Defeating Omega Weapon (post your own omega strategy here)
How to defeat the OMEGA weapon (level 100, My Strategy):
This is based on my strategy.. Since i'm a card collector, i don't like to mod the rare Laguna card ( for 100 heroes) or the rare Gilgamesh card (Holywars) and such things to beat the beast..
I spend my time trying to beat the beast.
Choose Rinoa and Zell/Irvine to be part of the Party.. Zell is Strong but I used Irvine and He was way COOLER!
First off, Junction HP 80% , Str 60% , Speed 40% to every one.. If you have Bahamut and a Rosetta Stone, Junction Bahamut to Squall and use the rosetta stone on one of the GF junctioned to Rinoa.. By so doing this, Rinoa and Squall can have four ablities.. Junction Auto-Haste on Squall and Mag 60% to Rinoa.. You must also Junction 100 Death Spells to your Characters..
Be Sure to Junction your Party's Str and Hit with the best spells you got to 255 (and 255 on Rinoa's Mag)
When the battle begins, Squall will be the first one to move and use Meltdown as fast as you can and The two must cast Haste as fast as they can on theirselves.. Then Cast Aura as fast as you can on the 3 (Just cast it on their own)..
Omega will then Attack you with a Physical Attack or cast LV5 Death.. LV5 Death with always miss with the help of those Death Spells.. If he Attack you, you are lucky cause he will cast LV5 Death next... But if He cast LV5 Death at the beginning, you are dead meat cause he will use Meteor next and Followed by Megido Flame whick take off 9998 HP!
If you are fast enough, Do so on performing your Limit Breaks so Omega can only have 1 turn or 2! (Cool, huh?).. But Be Sure to keep them at critical condition (low on HP) to keep using your strongest Limit Break.. On Zell, always use Armageddon Fist until the last second.. On Irvine, Use Canister, Armor, or Hyper Shot or Perform those turn by turn to make him look cooler but all of them take of 9999 damage... If Squall is at very low HP, he may have the luck to unleash LionHeart 2-3 times.. If Rinoa is at very low Hp, she will always use Wishing star always damaging OMEGA with 9999 damage every hit (with the help of Mag 60% and Str 60%)..
After 5-7 minutes on Kicking his butt (Well, he was entertained and was happy on watching you kick his butt), He will be bored(on letting you kick his---- you know) and will disappear like a bubble...
Well, I hope my strategy works well on you also..

My strategy
Make sure that you have 100 curaga's junctioned to each of your characters (at least the ones you're going to use to fight the Omega Weapon). I would Recommend Squall (obviously) Quistis and Rinoa. When you get to the bottom level of the Research station where the Omega Weapon is make sure that all of your characters are fully cured and have enough cure majic or items to keep them alive and make sure that all of your characters have Aura. LOTS of aura. Cast aura on all of your characters and try not to use rinoa's limit break before everyone has aura.
Once everyone has aura, attack the thing with your limit breaks. I know you can't decide what limit breaks come from Rinoa and Squall but quistis's Shockwave Pulsar works well and eventually rinoa should cast Invincible Moon, at which point you should hurry and kill the thing before the aura's become ineffective and you can't re-cast it until your invincibility loses it's effect as well.
And another thing, BE SURE THAT YOU STOCK EDEN FIRST before doing anything else! Otherwise, you'll be sorry!
For those of you who just want the GF and aren't that interested in fighting the Omega Weapon, put selphie in your party and use her SLOT The End and it will kill the thing, but again, be sure you stock Eden first otherwise you'll have to start all over again just to get her.

i use a holy war when all my chrcters are in yellow life then keep using fast shot with irvine, lionheart with squall and duel with zell and eventully u will kill him

Happened to me when I first played my FF8 game, I avoided Omega Weapon and finish the game off just to see the ending and all sort of things. LOL!
Cough,cough but after finishing the game I continued again to defeat Omega Weapon lol (unfinished business).
Here's my strategy to defeat Omega Weapon (high levels):
1. Make sure you've junctioned Death into your allies Status Defense.
2. Squall must be able to use his limit anytime (yellow coloured Hit Point), he'll be the Striker.
3. It's better to include Zell and Rinoa into the party, Zell will be the "Healer" and 2nd Striker while Rinoa will be the "Reviver".
4. Refine Laguna's card into 100 Heroes and arrange the item at the top of the list for battle.
5. Buy some items which can heal or revive all party members such as Mega-elixir.
6. Rinoa and Zell must have a Magic command in one of her abilities, also Zell should have Eden junctioned.
7. Ring the bell, and encounter Omega Weapon.
8. The first attack will be from Omega Weapon itself, it'll use Death Lv? onto your allies. Since you've junctioned Death into the Status Defense, there'll be no problem facing that attack.
9. Each of the characters throw Hero onto themselves, without waisting time. Your characters will be invincible...but not permanently.
10. Use Squall's limit first, followed by Rinoa casting Aura onto Zell, Zell will be summoning Eden.
11. After Squall and Rinoa is finished, Zell will be still summoning Eden. So, use Squall's limit again followed by Rinoa's casting Triple onto herself.
12. Eden will be summoned, don't forget to boost cause the damage will reach 35000++. After the summon, Squall will be using his limit again while Rinoa will cast three magic which is Haste and Protect to Squall, followed by Meltdown magic to Omega Weapon.
13. Zell will be able to use his limits now, so use it and spend lots of time hitting Omega Weapon.
14. Right after Zell finished his limit, the effect of Hero is fading, so use the Hero item again and PLEASE be quick. Remember if in case Rinoa didn't have the time to throw Hero onto herself, you may use other characters to throw Hero onto her.
15. What happens if Rinoa dies? Well, if you've train Angelo well, she'll be revived automaticlly. But if Angelo doesn't appear, simply revive her using Phoenix Down. Zell will heal her Hit Points to maximum.
16. Repeat this sequence until you've defeated Omega Weapon. Try not to loose any characters while fighting Omega Weapon cause if one ally dies, causes your attack on Omega Weapon holds for a while, leaving you to play defensive. You CANNOT play defensive with Omega Weapon.
Tips on defeating Omega Weapon (for low levels-lvl15-20):
1. This tip is kinda cheating, but it's so funny when you've seen the mighty Omega Weapon lost with a funny skill.
2. Make sure you've junctioned Death into your allies Status Defense.
3. Selphie must be in the party (she's gonna be the lady of the match), plus her limits must be ready in use.
4. Head for Omega Weapon and encounter it.
5. Once Omega Weapon is finished with it's Death Lv?, open Selphie's limit Slot and quickly open the Playstation Cover of yours.
6. Don't worry, the game will not end but it freezes. However, you are still able to control Selphie's Slot.
7. Search for her limit called "The End", and it may take some time finding it cause of your low levels. The End limit appears more frequent when Selphie is level 100. But, I guess that's make no difference cause Omega Weapon is still gonna die after all.
8. Once you've found it, select the limit...it's "The End" remember, and close your Playstation cover back.
9. The game will continue as normal, leaving you to witness Omega Weapon been defeated with a funny skill. The End.
P.S: Warning you may get dizzy after reading my strategies.

i did it this way.
Party: squall,rinoa,irvine
Checklist
1. have draw magics to get GF eden
2. Have rinoa's invincble moon
3. Make sure you have aura magics
4. have irvines demolition or pulse ammo
5.Equip all your powerfullest GF's
6.Junction wisely
7. Also have hastes
Battle
1. Start of the battle by casting aura and haste on your party
2.Then use draw to get eden.
3. use rinoa limit break and hope for invincble moon.
4. Now you start the attack.
5. use your limit breaks and GF's
6. if invincble moon runs out try to use it again.
