remember how i was all excited about those x1600's that i bought... well i am severely disappointed in them.
i learned a few things about video cards lately...
Spending $600 on a video card is an excelent purchase. becuase the top-of-the-line card today, is still faster than the medium-of-the-line card two generations to come.
yaah.. so my 9800 preforms about the same as my x1600, the ONLY reason that the x1600 preforms slightly better is for Four reasons:
1: it uses DirectX 9.0c rather than DirectX 9.0
2: It has Shader 3.0 rather than Shaders 2.0
3: It has the benefit of a few advanced features
4: Its more overclock friendly.
its still an upgrade.. but not much of one.
*dissappointed*
so ill stick with it.. but then when the next line of cards comes out (the 8800 line) ill purchase the top-of-the-line card for $600 and get the preformance i dream of (most likely a DirectX10 card, and have some new shader crap or something)

i got 2 x1600pro's
turns out, neither of them were Crossfire Enabled, just Crossfire Optimized. meaning that they cant be used together as at least one has to be Crossfire Enabled.
THEN i bricked one when i tried to update the firmware on the video card to the absolute latest version... bad idea, and it bricked the video card, atleast i had another one. but still i want to get a better one.. *sigh* why is getting a new video card such a hassle?
