Contrast help
ok so my college year started again today... unfortunely i've got a new tutor  she's nice but i liked my old one better...
we got a new project to do which is 'contrast.' i've thought of some obvious ones such as colours, textures, man made/ natural, but i was wondering if people could help me think of ones as i really want to do good this year and make up for my last one...
they can be really obvious or not, but hey... please help if you can think of some

You're an art student right?!
Well you can find contrast in about everything, dark/ light, old/ new, parts of the body etc. The main objective in contrast is to create interest in the project. I don't think the problem is finding what "objects" you can use in your project, it's more about being creative in how you do it. To "get your creativity working" can be a major difficulty at times, so I suggest looking at some paintings for contrast artists. Dark and light is a very common theme you can find easily. Fragonard, Giovanni Baglione and Gherardo delle Notti are some of my favorite artists when it comes to chiaroscuro.

In oil painting and water colour, here are some of the fundamental contrasts.
Yellow---Magenta/purple
Blue---orange
red---green
Also note that the background area near a bright foreground object should be dark and vice versa.

yeah im an art student on a national diploma course... im in second year and going uni next year :/
we haven't been told much ourselves, we've literally been told 2 put together a project on contrast to capture it in as many creative ways as possible, we can use photography as well...
we've got to produce four different outcomes, a drawn outcome, a painted outcome, a textiles base outcome including printing and a computer based outcome (on photoshop).
so far i've done simple things like collage textures, drawn a few contrasting objects...
i just really need some creative ideas... im stuck

Organized/unorganized, wild/tame, nature/technology, life/death(what flashed through my mind in this one was the pictures of the hippies putting flowers in the barrels of the guns of soldiers) or birth/death

i was thinking of technology and old fashioned in the way of playing, like, most kids now have fun sitting on a computer, where other kids used to run on the streets swinging sticks at eachother pretending to be musketeers or whatever...
but mabus gave a really nice list of contrasts in my opinion as well

A lot of cultures say the sun and moon ate opposite and I guess one is a "ball" of gas and the other is a "ball" of rock. So Sun/Moon... North Pole/South Pole (Magnetic)
+ and - would contrast by what they mean.
