college - university
is anyone looking at colleges or universities for next year?
i've just started looking at uni's im starting to get nervous about moving away from my family now lol like i only have just under a year now...
i've always wanted to get away but now it's actually happening soon-ish i dont wanna go
anyone in same boat?

I had the exact opposite reaction.
if you could maybe tell us why you are concerned about leaving? I guess you are really close to your family and stuff and have siblings?

I'll be working on my final year project at uni next year. Uni is great, apart from maybe the first few days lol. You'll make a lot of friends there and become so lazy that its beyond funny

Meh depends on how much your wiling to work and how much you like your classes I think and how much your into whatever your studying...there have been times when Im all like wooo school and other times when Im like omg this eats I dont want responsibilty anymore what happened to highschool XD...Im a junior this year and frankly this college stuff is gettin old XD
I dont mean to scare you away from it though. It can be fun...and like I said if your serious about your major and your studies it'll be all good XD
I realize moving away from all you know can be scary. But no worries it'll be fine. It might get lonley but like Stappy said you'll make friends and such ^^

wow loads of support 
ummm... im not really that close to may family but i live with my grandparents and disabled mum, so they kind of rely on me, so in that way im just worried if i leave will they be ok?
im an only child too... i've been kind of spoiled my whole life and this year i've got to go out and earn - which i am actually really excited about they have a job at my local game station so that sounds nice to me if i can get it as a part time job, gonna hand my CV in...
im doing art and i love that so there's no doubt i wont enjoy the course
im worried i wont make friends though... i've always been a very shy person face to face...
im generally a bit all round scared

The best way to make friends it to just make as many jokes as possible in as little time as possible...Ooor have lunch with people. Ask them where is a good place to eat and they'll probably invite you to wherever they're going, where you can pick up on everyone's weird eating habits lol
One thing i enjoy is groupwork. I'm not sure how much you'll be doing but it seems that everyone wants to hurry up and go home to work on whatever it is. Which may work for some but...yeah not as good lol

I am kinda the same way... Face to face meeting new people I am extremely shy and usually don't talk much but I've been making a conscious effort to get rid of that... In my course, they kinda got everyone talking and such by splitting us into groups based on our birthday. It was fun, got people talking and such. Now I have a regular group of friends in my course.
Don't worry too much though, there will be other people who are shy like you and there will people extreme outgoing as well (and lots of people between those ranges), so you'll make friends.
I didn't make too many friends outside my course, that kinda sucks but I don't go out clubbing much either so meeting new people is kinda hard for me.

i get nervous in group work... if i have a idea i get scared to say it... however previously group work has helped me make friends or at least made it easier for me to say hi to people

I am in the same boat.
The university I will be attending in October is in the same city I live in. However, the university is far from my home so I will have to live in a dorm, but at least I will be able to get back on the weekend if I want to. I am close to my family but I am much closer to my friends, leaving them and my boyfriend is what really sucks about the whole thing. Other than that I am excited about the whole college theme, of course a little nervous, but it is a part of the experience so it doesn't really bother me and it shouldn't bother you as well . It would be nice not having to witness my brother and sister arguing all day long.
Group working is my way in making enemies not friends, especially when I am being told what to do. I do much better on my own. Well everyone has their ways.
