I assume you're not taking on the monster arena. I still have a file of a similar challenge (NSGNZDA) where I'm also taking on the monster arena (beaten first 5 dark aeons, can beat Dark Yojimbo like he was a punchbag )
ps. for anyone wandering, his challenge above stands for No Sphere Grid (I assume Q was a typo), No Zanmato, No Trio of 9999/Quartet of 9, No Escape, No [No Encounters], Dark Aeons/Anima.
you rely on items alot its nearly impossible at the start just until you get aeons powerup items
you really rely on getting items with first strike etc...
make sure your aeons are extremely powerful compared to the strongest monsters in the area etc considering once they are gone its over for you pretty much
Anyway, I've FINALLY got my first complete armour (finally got to 99 Dark Matter last night for Ribbon). Only 3 more to go . Doing some capturing to unlock Ultima Buster and get another 99 dark matters for another ribbon (and a second complete armour). Got 10 of everything upto (and including) the calm lands.
If anyone cares, what I'm using as a "complete armour" is Auto-haste, Auto-phoenix, Auto-regen and Ribbon. I have 1 character complete as said above and 2 with the first 3 on their armour. Aiming to have 4 in total (Rikku, Wakka, Tidus and Yuna).
Game time is close to 500 hours (492 I think) and have 20 million gil (nearly 21 million if I sell the recent equipment drops from Dark Yojimbo)
Sorry for double-post but feel this should be revived. I've got 2 "complete" armours now for Dark Anima. Captured 5 of every capturable fiend with Barbatos, Behemoth King and Great Malboro being a nightmare as always. My Anima just simply drained them in a doublecast demi shower (her 2500 mp on my file easily enough). Anyway, 2 more to go before I can beat the Dark Magus Sisters. May need 3 more after that.
As for the monster arena, I just have Shinryu and Nemesis left. All I can say is SHINRYU IS HELL in NSG. No aeons to rely on, 2 million HP and eraser doesnt care about Ribbon or Stoneproof. BTW Shinryu is apparently harder in NSGNZ than Nemesis is (judging on their particular fights).
You shouldn't judge so quickly. I've completed NSG and I'm up to Braska's Final Aeon in NSGNSNCNO (No Sphere Grid, No Summoning, No Customising and No Overdrives). Need to beat Greater Sphere until it decides to drop a Phoenix Bracer and then get a few more stoneproof armours so I don't get destroyed by Jecht Beam.
Ultimately the best proof is doing it yourself. When it comes to beating the dark aeons, there are people who essentially cheat (raise Yuna's stats to make the aeons stronger faster). Admittedly there are only a few of us who are doing it in its purest form [myself, Lord-penance (yes he was only joking on other topic), Arbron and Master Trigger (you will probably know him more as darkkefka on youtube)]
ohh yeah damn i didnt think of that.. ...big amount of gil would be needed..oh and by the way i dont know why but my yojimbo wont do zanmato..im giving him the right amount and sometimes i give him millions but he wont do the freakin technique...and this is some what funny..cause one of my friends play this game too and he only give yojimbo 1 gil and it does zanmato...im really pissed when i saw that...

i dont even rely on aeons since my characters r so strong that they make the aeons useless for me...
Your characters won't be that strong in NSG. Auron can do like 575 with 1HP and the Masamune on, the others won't even hit near that. NSG is really all about character setups.
