If a character dies I think you have to try and get them back in the game as quick as possible. Or just kill the enemy before they kill you. Its doable.
Not sure if ill get that far though im not the greatest player.
Try searching for Final fantasy 10 no sphere grid run on youtube and you can watch people do it. Even the final boss.
Just to update I got to the fight with Seymour. I thought I could take him by using Rikkus overdrive but it didnt kill him and I never realised it gave him 2 turns where each used 2 magic attacks. No characters have enough defense or hp to survive it. So i think ill have to hold on with overdrive till I know it will kill him.
No sphere grid?.................i bearly beat the game without it no ty
I was the same on the first play through. I spent 10 hours levelling outside the final save point to be able to kill the final boss. This is only my second play through now.

Thanks. I have an idea what to do now. Saw a youtube vid. Get Rikku and combine artic wind with hi potion and I should cast null magic on everyone.
hmmmmmmmmmmm good idea.............i dont like ff10 as much as i would because there are no lvls, no scence of accomplishment
But to beat every boss i pretty much always ovardrived all my aeons/summons/espers, whichever you like best, on their u know what!
Ive now got past Seymour and the snow monster. Ive forgot his name. Its getting really tough though. Ive almost ran out of items with Rikku so I need to try and stock up. I have plenty of Arctic winds though which may be useful now Im out of the snow.
