Blizzcon '07, Starcraft 2 and Wrath of the Lich King
yes, i went to blizzcon 2007 (aug 3rd to aug 4th)
you know it as the Blizzard Convention.
why is this so important?
because i got to PLAY STARCRAFT 2!
yes, i played it, i touched the computer, i created the new units seen in the video and i even got to see new units not even announced before blizzcon.
i also got to get all of the information about the World of Warcraft expansion 2 Wrath of the Lich King.
we also a few more bits of information about the upcoming Warcraft movie.
i will try to go into detail on each, and while it is over (no internet there) i will give the best information that i possibly can and hope to answer questions about either game or event.

Starcraft 2:
Plays and feels MUCH like the original, while the zerg were not playable at the demo, the Protoss and Terran were.
The terran have quite a few new units, such as the Valkire which is a flying unit that can land and turn into a mech... A unit that can fire a lazer while moving, and most impressively, the Thor yup, i have a unit named after me. the Thor is a massive mech that is too big to be built in the Mech Lab. it has to be built with SCV's like a building. it has cannon hands and four targeted missile launchers on its back that fold forward for artillery attacks.
the missile towers have lost their ability to Detect cloaked units. but a new building is now available that covers a MUCH larger range and can let you see enemies that are still hidden in the fog of war.
the protoss feels VERY similar, the new units feel like they were always there and bring a new sense of completeness to an army. unit progression and advancement has changed quite a bit. Dark templars and Templars are created through different building requirements (which i find is much better, makes the dark templars feel more integrated rather than tacked on)
there are a few hundred thousand things more. but those are the main points.
it does not look like a cartoon as it does in one of the videos, in action on a monitor with a decent resolution it looks like a VERY clean version of Starcraft 1.

Wrath of the Lich King:
this is simple to inform
1: Level cap is now 80
2: New lands Northrend
3: Introducing the first Hero Class the Death Knight
4: New Profession: Inscribing
the last two deserve more detail.
the Death Knight Hero class will not be an addition to your current character. and it wont be available from the start. you must reach level 80 and complete a quest line (not too hard to do) and then you are able to create a NEW character that can be this class. but good news, he will NOT start out at level 1, he will start at a high level at least 50 or higher.
He wont be using Rage, Energy, or Mana, he will cast spells with Runes. you have 8 rune slots and can pick from 3 different types of runes for each slot (blood, ice, and death runes) each spell will require a certain number of runes to be cast. and the runes will come back over time.
the death knight will be similar to a warrior, as in it has lots of HP and can use the same weapons and armor (Plate) but the Death Knight cannot use Shields. he can duel wield, or use a 2H weapon.
Arthis is a Death Knight, and yes.. you will meet Arthis (cant remember if im spelling his name correctly, someone correct me)
Inscription is the ability to take one skill like Fireball.. and change or add some new property to that spell.. the example given was taking fireball and adding a Knockback effect to it. it sounds OP, and it may start out that way, but blizzard assured the crowd that it will not be.

Are you sure they spelt it Litch? If so then they need a dictionary because there's no t in it. Anyway, since I can't afford WoW the choice should be obvious.

deffinatly starcraft2 (i voted the 2nd one cause it sounds funny
but yeah, i'm a starcraft fan, and anyone who played it probably is, i never owned it, but i remember the good old days of meeting up at my friend's place, me and 2 other friends would play against eachother for hours using a lan connection
i only played terran because those were the easiest to understand for a noob, lol
anyway, it's a shame my pc is sheit, it'll never be able to play it

well, as the explenation cleared: i never played protoss
i only played terran, lol
the names of the other 2 groups were a bit too confusing if i wanted to be a match against my friends who both had the game
it's a shame they never allowed me to use nukes
