In some aspects yes, in others, no. FFX is more inovative in styles of play(i.e sphere grid and such) and the fact that the graphics are a hell of a lot better than sevens. The story lines are basicly equal imo, they're both really well put together. Though, in seven the game is just more well built. Despite ffx being more modern, and having stunning(at the release) graphics, seven is just all around more fun imo. But, other than the listed opinions, they're equal.

I think Final Fantasy Xis better in my opinion because not only was it the first FF to feature voice acting but it had superior graphics as opposed to FF VII but FFVII is still excellent in story and other factors but hands down FF X is on top !

Yeah well i dont know, they are both excellant, if ffvii had ps2 grafics it would be ffvii, and if ffx was like ffvii then that would be for me, so there both the same.

FFX's storyline threw too much at you randomly, not leading into it enough, unlike VII. VII actually lead into certain points throughout the whole game(EX- remember all those times Cloud was warned that something bad was about to happen? this happened most often on Disc one, but it lead up to him being a clone of Sephiroth, as Hojo tells you that Seph can control his clones by thought in disc II or III)
The only things that I liked about X over VII was the battle design, graphics, and cutscenes. Overall, VII is better imo.

Let's see... I'll have to say that out of the entire series, most will agree that the best games are X and VII. Both have wonderful storylines, well-rounded characters, battle systems, and both were the first of firsts.
In terms of depth, FF VII gave you so much more, and also left you hanging. While FF X was more psychological, and threw secrets at you and twists, you just can't beat the original.
FF VII wins, hands down, as the first 3D FF, and the first to really draw fans in. <3

If a games quality in your opinion is based off graphics and voice acting you need to crawl back in the *womb, your not fully cooked yet. Just kidding, but seriously... anyone who tries to say X was anywhere near as good as VII needs a psyche evaluation.
Then again, i'm biased because I hate FFX... so playing with a painted turd is more appealing to me than wasting another moment on that tragedy.

Now hold on just a sec. I've been playing FFX from close to when it came out and I can honestly say that the game deserves much more credit than that. Admittedly, I'm slightly biased myself seeing I've only played FFVII once (about 5 years ago). However from my memories of the game, I honestly think that FFX is the better game. For a start, I could almost see FF7s story from a mile off on the first playthrough, hence I never truely bothered to pay attention to it, but in FFX's case, there are enough twists that you could dance to it. I'm not even going to comment on the graphics, FFX's are better, that's a given, but I couldn't care less if there wasn't Voice Acting and good graphics. I play FF games purely for the gameplay, and I would say FFX['s is much better (and hence I'm still playing it after 10+ completions).
On a sidenote, if you say you'd rather play with painted turd, you shoukd be the one going back into the womb.
