best new rpgs
So yeah I'm debating wether to get a ps3 or a 360, and well.. I need to know which seems to have rpgs I would prefer since rpgs are my favorite games, so yeah, what kind of rpgs does the ps3 have? what6 are the best ones? I only need the title, I can research the rest.

Hm havent really played many games on the PS3...but so far I've done Assassins Creed...which was alright...not great but not bad either...FFXIII was really awesome....and Oblivion which Im nearly finished with and is pretty good...lots of stuff to do...it has a lot of glitches or possible glitches which is kinda a kick in the balls but most of um are pretty easy to overcome. Sorry havent played anything else...I just cant really find the time to play them anymore XD

I got an xbox360 and my rpgs so far are:
FF13
The last remnant
infinite undiscovery
dragon age
But I havent had the xbox very long and there are others out ther i dont have. 2 worlds or something fable.
Gamestop has a search engine for both consoles with categories for all so you can compare it on only one web pages.
One thing is FF14 wont be on xbox becuase of pricing in xbox live or something but i dont totally call that a ff game in the original sense. ff11 and ff14 is in its own category imo.
Update: ff11 is on the xbox 360.

Needless to say, both are still on the "rpg-starved console" phase...
In the 'traditional rpg' sense, anyway...
But truth be told though, you're going to find a lot more diversity, in terms of genres if you go with a PS3.
And this year there's some really promising looking RPG titles exclusive to the PS3, including FFXIII Versus.
IMO some notable (to me) exclusive RPGs for both that are out as of now are
Folklore- PS3
Demon's Souls- PS3
Lost Odyssey- 360
Infinite Undiscovery- 360
These titles are on both consoles though
Resonance of Fate
Dragon Age
Mass Effect
FFXIII
Eternal Sonata
To be honest, if you're looking for a traditional turn based RPG, you won't find too many good ones, apart from Eternal Sonata, Lost Oddysey, and Resonance of Fate.
And obviously you can't forget about FFXIII-2, which looks like it'll be incredibly promising!
Unfortunately it's gonna be on both consoles, but meh....

i hear mass effect get great reviews from everyone
fallout 3 and new vegas are on both consoles i think
theres a game called resonance of fate on the ps3 and in a review i read "This is how final fantasy 13 should have been" i havent played it but from that sentence i think it would at least be worth checking out
as for eternal sonata mentioned above
it seemed incomplete to me
the story the characters all should have gone further than they did
and the ending seemed kind of out of place.

TBH both consoles have a huge library of RPG's available, 90% of which are multiconsole releases.
you cant go wrong with either one.

Lost Odyssey is a traditional turn-based RPG but it has cut scenes like Xenosaga... For RPG's I would probably have to say ATM the 360 wins, because I wouldn't classify Demon's Souls as an RPG nor would I classify Oblivion as an RPG in the way FF is classified as an RPG.
Both Demon Soul's and Oblivion (as well as Fallout 3 and Mass Effect 2 [Mass Effect is not on the PS3, get your facts straight) are Action games with RPG elements added. They are not Action RPG's as that is what Eternal Sonata falls under.
Folklore is kinda borderline RPG/Action with the RPG elements almost non existent.
Games I have owned or own:
Folklore (PS3)
Mass Effect (360)
Mass Effect 2 (PC)
Lost Odyssey (360)
Demon's Souls (PS3)
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
Games I need to buy:
Infinite Undiscovery(360) (Fith said this one was very good)
The Last Remnant (PC) (Now that I have a PC that can play it without lag).
Resonance of Fate:(PS3)One pet peeve I hear about this game is that no matter your level, you'll still have to fight the lv.1 guys if you go back to an area w/ them.
Possibly Eternal Sonata(360) I think it was ported to the PS3 also seeing as it is $20 bucks...
DO NOT COUNT THE PS3 OUT YET! The new lineup for the PS3 for RPG's (exclusives) looks very promising! Also PS3 can do quite a bit more than the 360 can (blu ray movies, easily stream from your PC, browse internet albeit with one of the crappiest web browsers known to man, free online (if you ever buy a game w/ online). I stream my weirdly encoded anime to my PS3 something which the 360 cannot do as Media Center sucks balls for codecs.
edit: also ps3 can upgrade it's HDD very easily to the biggest 2.5" slim HDD you can buy for computers.

I have fallout 3, New Vegas, Dragon Age and FF13 all on my PS3
Having not owned an Xbox360 i can't say much about it. However I have heard about numerous problems with the infamous red ring of death. Also FF13 comes on one blu ray for PS3 and takes up 3 disks for xbox and apparently looks crappier on xbox
And you were wondering why i haven't bothered with an xbox XD

Haha I got mine for free. And ellite version too. My brothers didn't work anymore RROD and so he said I could take a look at it, cause I'm a computer nerd.
Anyways, the warrenty for RROD was extended to 5 years and this console was still in the warrenty. Got it shipped freely back and got a new working xbox! lol

the RROD thing is kinda an old story actually.
and all the RPG's you listed are also available on the xbox as well.
like i said, 90% of the games are multiplatform nowadays. and a majority look better on the xbox. (with a handful being the exception)
but the slight graphical advantage isn't much, so honestly just go with whichever platform you have more friends with. that makes it more fun when you can play with friends.
if you are going solo, grab whichever one that is cheapest.
