Best music in the final fantasy series?
Which Final Fantasy do you think has the best music of them all (please try to give some examples if you can )? Personally, I'm voting for Crisis Core. I think it had a fantastic soundtrack, and as an example, I give you these three songs. The SOLDIER Way, Dreams and Pride, The Price of Freedom.
Dreams and Pride:

The Price of Freedom:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOJ91H4mraU
The SOLDIER Way:

I think these are great not only as music, but also because of how well they fit in the mood and moments of the game.

I personally love how Square always manages to make the music fit every kind of surrounding in the ff universe. To the point where I can't picture it in any other final fantasy other than the one it's used in...
My favorite soundtrack's from ff6
There's the Magitek factory's song, the moogle's theme, the Veldt's theme, and pretty much all the individual's theme songs.
To me it was the perfect, most memorable, soundtrack, and not to mention some tracks, like the opera, really pushed the limits in terms of music quality considering it was on the SNES.

IMO Dancing Mad is the best track, hands down.
But there are plenty of others that deserve mention, I always thought that Dark Messenger - FF9 was a pretty good one, so was Otherworld - FFX, The Man With the Machine Gun - FF8 was pretty good, Red XIII's Theme - FF7 I've always loved this one, oh let's see here... Auron's Theme - FFX, Crazy Motorcyle Chase - FF7, Maybe I'm a Lion - FF8, These were all great tracks IMO. Aerith's Theme from FFVII really helped set the mood for a lot of the scenes in that game.
All in all, I don't think I could say that any one particular installment of Final Fantasy has the best OST among them.
If we're willing to count Kingdom Hearts, I would have to point out a few tracks like Forze Del Male, Darkness of the Unknown, Rage Awakened, and The Other Promise.

A couple stick out in my mind.
Overworld Theme - FFVII
Man With The Machine Gun - FFVIII
The Place I'll Return to Someday - FFIX
FFX - People of the North Pole
FFX - Hymn of the Faith
Those are the ones I know the names... I have a huge amount of others I just don't know what they are called.

I loved X
-Guardians of the mountain
-chocobo theme
-the Besaid music
-and of course, maybe the biggest tear jerking song from any final fantasy: Road to Zanarkand.
but saying that, all of em were great. Now im gonna let you finish, But Nubeo Uematsu is one of the greatest composers of all time. OF ALL TIME!

I never did like the early Final Fantasy music because it was too arcadish for me- a sort of bouncy electric sound. Later on it started getting more singing/vocalization and regular instruments like pianos and guitars.

Both Eyes On Me and Melodies of Life are excellent songs :-)
I think that the composers for Final Fantasy outdid themselves on a lot of those scores.

'Otherworld' (has to be there) and 'Assault' from ff10
most of the ff9 soundtrack, most notably 'Hunter's Chance', 'The Place I'll Return To' and 'Grand Cross'
'The Landing' and 'Premonition' from ff8
The only piece from 7 that really stood out for me was the opening music oh and 'Those who Fight Further' which has to be one of the most awesome boss tunes in existance

I'll have to agree with you on Crisis Core. Every scene with Aerith was just... wow. And the boss battles got pretty epic soundtracks.
I enjoyed the classic cacophony of 8-bit goodness of FFI, though. It's so nostalgic.
