If there is a ninja, black wizard, or red wizard in the party, then the Super Monk is the best class to have. Being the only unit that can do maximum damage to ANY enemy, even the last boss and (in the case of Final Fantasy 1&2 for GBA) the secret bosses, within a reasonable number of turns of course, it's much more important than any other unit, with the possible exception of the white wizard....
So my vote goes to "monk".
