I found Celes being a terrible spellcaster, she could easily deal 3000 damage with the most basic spells, such as Fire or Ice.
On the other hand, Cyan can be a very good physical character, since he can get very high Str, using his Quadra Slice will deal enemies massive damage.

I really have to go with Sabin!
He's the only character I found worth always keeping in my party.
plus inputting the bllitz moves definitely added to the "excitement" especially when you had the battle mode on active instead of wait....
