Never heard of it, but it sounds stupid
would be much better if it was "Battlefield 2243" or even better "Battlefield 2943" or or wiat "Battlefield 82038945" with lasers... lots of lasers...
Who wants boring old guns from WWII anyway?

Be warned my friend, you get what you pay for. Like that 20$ hooker I thought was a great idea... the crab removal cream cost more than (s)he did...

well as a little history, the developer is DICE (i believe they had a hand in battlefield bad company 1 and the the soon to be released 2, also mirrors edge. thats just a taste of their previous games.)
also, some screen shots for you:
just to be clear those are screenshots from the 360 version of the game.
and no, i am in no way getting paid to try and get you interested in the game lol.

makeshift camo i guess.
edit: oh hey. i wasnt really sure and kinda forgot about checking it out, but you can use planes in the game aswell. that pretty much makes this a realistic warhawk game, which is awesome because warhawks biggest fault was being to cartoonish.

So. first impressions:
awesome. I sat down, started playing and suddenly it was 5 am. granted i only started playing around 3 am (did the tutorial) and then played a good hour and a half. in that time i went through the three out of four maps, played each of the three classes, ranked up... 5 times i think, and really got a handle on what im good at and what im not.
for instance, flying the plane without being a suicide bomber is super hard (for me).
Im not sure, but i dont think you can change the controls for anything either so what you have is what it is, though the normal shooting is pretty much what you get from every other fps.
the tank/ jeep control awesome, even the anti-air turret feels "right".
shooting seems to be spot on for me, sniping is soooo much fun. its more than anything my strong suit for now.
the only way to play is a control point/capture the flags system, with 5 flags per map. so you have to get all of them... and of the... 8-9 games i played there were super well balanced... somehow. like... even in the 3-4 games where my team had 4 of the 5 flags in the first 3 or so min, we could never hold them and suddenly it would be 4 of 5 flags for the other team and we were sweating bullets. so i havent seen a shut out yet, and thats with people that are really good and people that suck (though i was seriously in on game the whole time sooo. meh.
no lag at all. and thats on psn. and oddly enough ive heard terrible server troubles on the 360 version, along with noticeable bugs with the sound, of which i had zero. for once, on launch, the psn had the better quality, and it launched a day after it did on the 360. pretty hilarious.
now for anyone say, damn, 4 maps, thats it? well, it is only $15 and let me just say, those 4 maps, well the 3 that i played were fantastic. the perfect size, all vehicles were well placed, not too many of course, plenty of shrubbery which can be destroyed. most make * bunkers can also be destroyed. not sure if the concrete ones can be...
but really, totally worth it if you enjoy fps games. and since im not a fan of any other battlefield game (specifically bad company) that says a lot for myself, and ill be playing this for a long time. i just hope they put out some dlc.
oh oh. bottom line everyone. if you are on the fence but you just so happen to have played warhawk, or even thought to yourself "warhawk sounds like it would be totally fun" (which it was for about 10 min), well Battlefield 1943 is 1000 times more awesome than warhawk. this also goes for the old call of duty games. so much more fun and spot on with everything. the amount of polish in the games is fantastic. and the price point people COME ON!.

dunno, i think BF would most likely get a website and it'll go on the online store for EA with the EA downloader...
that's how my friends downloaded BF 2142
