Sometimes you can block all damage with shield, then you effectively get first hit.

You get the advantage against bosses too. Classes with high HP can endure that first hit easily anyway...

yea i would rather the last hit instead of the first hit cuase if it was the other way around, like when u use a potion or something to heal urself, there hit would go off before urs and u would die more often. this way is the best imho

eric told u how, u need to have the steal ability, you can only get this by completing the thief class. the master awards dont do anything, they just show u what classes u have mastered. also the boss items dont do anything, but are rares and are worth a lot of gil

there is only one ability...the steal ability...you can get it by mastering the thief class...you wont recieve it automaticaly, you will have to ask for it sfter you mastered thief...as to fighting bosses...you dont need anything special..you meet them randomly from lvl 10
