Banjo Kazooie

preordered this game and got the original Banjo Kazooie for the N64, on the 360.

it hasn't come in the mail, but they sent me the code to play the original on XBLA and man am i having a blast, i forgot how awesome this game was. i dont think i mind that ill get Nuts n bolts before monday as that will give me plenty of time to unlock everything on the original banjo.

anyone else re-playing through the original Banjo?

I've replayed through it a few times. BK is a fantastic game and it's not really fair how MArio 64 gets so much recognition and BK get's none. BK was the best platformer in my opinion, by a mile.

BK2 was fun too.

I'm thinking about getting an xbox, now that it's only $299 (cheaper than a wii) because of FF13 and now the new banjo game.

the only reason mario 64 gets the credit is simply because it paved the way for all future 3d plaformers. not to mention its the best example of a solid launch title if ive ever seen one.

k, cheapest way:
get the $199 package
then get a 20gig harddrive on ebay for around $20-$30
you'll lose out on 40gigs, but you'll save $70

[edit]snap, forgot the HDAV cable, about $10 on ebay.
so you save $60

or if you care about storage space, grab a 120gig harddrive on ebay for around $90, after the cable you end up paying the same amount but have twice as much space.

its weird thinking that the arcade bundle is now the bundle of choice. it used to be a bad idea.

they make loading of your game quicker
they allow you to play XBOX1 games
you can save tons of games
you can download video clips
you can download game demos
you can download extra content for your games
you can detach it and bring it to your friends house (though the arcade bundle does come with a memory card which is easier to use)

i highly recommend using a harddrive for your 360, it makes the console feel so much more usable and versitle.

The thing is, if i wanted to get a hard drive, i might as well get a ps3 since it will be the near the same price lol.

I won't need a hard drive though. I only play games, and the only games I'll play won't be that many.

Thanks for the help btw.

quite a bit less actually
Arcade bundle: $200
20gig harddrive: $20
video cable: $10

360: $230
PS3: $400

ahh yah, kinda
thats the Nov 19th update (so close!) it will allow you to copy the entire game disc to your harddrive for faster loading and less noise from the DvD drive, but you still need to have the disc in the drive to play (ya know, so you dont just keep games you rent)
Pros:
+ Less noise from DvD drive
+ Faster loading of games
+ Shorter Load Screens
Cons:
-Takes up a * of space on your harddrive. a 20gig can proabbly do... 1 game, maybe. probably not...

I'm doing this in 2 week!

Fable 2, GoW 2, Fallout 3, and banjo kazooie had me sold.

The only thing i don't like, is by the way it looks, they took away alot of the platformer elements of Banjo.

Interesting. I don't know if I'll be hooking it up to the net yet though.

I think I'll put the new console on hold until I finish FF12. Also, quantam of solace is also coming out on ps2! lol So that's handy for me lol. The last game I got was ...FFXII I think. I'm on a average of buying about 1 game a year now lol so if I'm still into games I'll probably get an xbox.

I LOVE Banjo Kazooie, it was an awesome game. I love the Clankers Cavern level with the big metal shark.

yah, Nuts and Bolts is weird

ive gotten about 1/3 or so of the way into the game. at first i hated it, it was boring, then as i played more it got more and more fun.

its definately not a traditional banjo game... but its weird becuase its still a great game.

on one hand: its a great game
on the other: i would prefer a traditional platformer.
on the third hand: its a great game (cant stop making new vehicles)

its annoying that essentially they could just cut out Banjo and the cast, replace the jiggy's with something else and it would still work flawlessly. i guess thats what annoys me. its essentally a completely new original game that could stand on its own, with Banjo stickers all over it.

//heres to hoping that they still release Banjo: Threeie
