Awww...
As I mentioned a thread ago, I hadn't logged on to this site in a really long time...
way before I had ff12 or even a ps2 for that matter.
But I bought ff12 about a month ago, and I have to admit I freakin' loved it. And right now I came to check the posts for ff12 (whereas before I never even looked at it for lack of having the game) and saw a buttload of negative comments and reviews XD
I dunno, just thought I'd put my two cents in and say I think this game's harsh opinions are a little over exaggerated. I honestly thought the game had an extremely creative.... everything? ... well except the obvious lack of character development. But I really saw it as one of my top 3 final fantasies.
This coming from someone who's played every Square game but ff3. XD
And IMHO Square's never made a bad, or ever NEAR bad, final fantasy.
And this one's no exception lol.
BTW not trying to get into anybody's bad side just stating my honest opinion.
Like I tell my friends, the difference between playing Final Fantasies as opposed to any other kind of game, is that anything else is just grabbing the control and playing mindlessly for hours, while Final Fantasy is an experience.

Yeah I actually haven't finished the game either!
Just been running around hunting marks and getting my but whooped. well i kinda quit playing cuz I tried going up against Gilgamesh and I'm in the second time fighting him and he's too hard and all my units are level 42 so getting back out of the cave itself'll earn me a huge butt-whooping
so I'll get back to the game when I forget about how hard it is... i guess xD

Yeah, I would definetly put FFXII in my top 7 favorite Final Fantasies... AHAHAHAHAHAHA

As the only person who's apparently beaten the game ()... Yes, althought it was fun to play, it remained anticlamactic, which left a sour taste in my mouth. Hunting marks was probably the best (and only challenging) part of the game. Infinite Undiscovery should've been given the FFXII monicker and FFXII should've remained a side project and not an FF title.

I did kind of enjoy Infinite Undiscovery. Definitely an underrated game. but apart from the Palom/Porom ripoffs there wasn't really much that I'd say can tie into the FF franchise.

If you took the mark hunting from twelve, increased the world size a bit and increased the story content a bit. Infinite Undiscovery would've been a 5/5 in my book.

I enjoyed playing FFXII, I just didn't have any interest in the story, even though it started off so well and I liked the setting.
In my little opinion the only bad game with Final Fantasy on the cover also has 'X-2' on the cover

i did not like the story... i find it was different... but to different, it isnt nearly as good as ff1, which is my least favorite other then 12 because of the storyline being short and stuff and 12 is just... not ff... i dont think it had biggs and wedge, which i believe are in every ff at some point and i have beeten ff12 and i hated it... btw train on malboros.

Wrong, biggs and wedge do make an appearance albeit under slightly different names...
Making a small cameo under the names of Gibbs and Deweg in Final Fantasy XII, they are two Archadian soldiers guarding the entrance to the Mosphoran Highwaste at Nalbina Fortress. (Taken from a wiki concerning biggs and wedge)
Supposedly, they are not in every FF, FFII, FFIII (Japanese) FFV, or the all loved FFIX

I thought the gameplay of XII was a good challenge to begin with, but once you set the gambits up right it turns the game on its head. i just switched them all on and let the machine do the rest. I did like the lack of random battles, although random battles never really bugged me that much. The music in 12 was quite good, not as good as 10 or 7 though. Chocobo's? Where were they? they weren't useful for anything, i think i used one once! The hunts quest was great though, very challenging, albeit a bit repetetive. The story was non exsistent and i truly hope they dont follow the same "Thee's and Thou's" direction with 13.
So in my opinion, it was a good game but an average Final Fantasy game.
And i hate penelo.
And larsa.
Balthier is cool though.
And fran is hot.
Ghetto hot.
I'd even give one to Ash if she wasn't such a B*tch
