XD, yes VB is easy, but allow me to tell you my awesome program:
3 * 3 grid which will randomise each square between 3 colors, update and move onto the next one.
This loops.
I ran it, it crashed. Instantly.

I like small little loops to infinity, I'ma see if it works on my PC...
EDIT - Well, VB 2008 for some reason no longer has Control Arrays, I don't see why, they were really useful. To do a similar thing you know have to use Shared Event Procedures, something which requires linking to VB.NET libraries, I'm sorry, but that is just ridiculous. Instead of using a few lines of code they want me to use an entire procedure to generate a single array? Talk about taking the long way...

garbage collector? hm...not sure, i thought Java was the only platform with one implemented XD then again i could be wrong...
and i realized that no, you can't be running out of memory XD since you only have a 3x3 grid, you're not creating anything else...right? just trying to change the colors....and THAT could be a virus XD if there's no way to stop the process right? XD i was thinking of that as i drove to nana's...reminded me of the very first virus and thought....that mgold is making a virus! =O
or maybe i'm just being silly XD

Well, I didn't write this like a virus but I have technically created a similar program to the first virus. Once run the program will display a popup window and a message, you click ok and it displays another message, this loops infinitely. Sadly, it didn't work as planned as it could easily be exited T_T
This program actually could be stopped, the window is handled as a separate event to the colours, or at least it should do. I'm not entirely sure as to how the * VB actually works with it's windows, you run the program and * exists ><
And no, it shouldn't have run out of memory in a 3x3 grid which changes colours, code was literally this:

I decided to change this code so that at the press of a button it would randomise a grid, I increased the grid size to 225 I think, added 6 more colours to the system and left it at that. I was going to establish some form of Bejeweled game over it but man, having to test a 15 * 15 grid, with 9 possible colours, where you score points by getting diagonal or horizontal rows of 4 or more. I'd also have to make a validation system etc. etc. and this was during a 15 minute break I think ><. In case you're wondering, no, I cannot write bejewelled in 15 minutes XD
Many languages don't have garbage collection, no, but many don't need automatic garbage collection for a 3x3 grid of images.
