Yeah, I know what you mean. I watched a little bit of it now and then, but I couldn't stand it for about two seasons. It went from "explore the galaxy" to "we are l33t! let's go to war!!1!1!"
Definitely one of the lowest points in the franchise.

rofl  It is sad that the we live in a day and age where the majority rules and dictates the outcome of all sources of entertainment. I think back in the 70s and 80s people like to try something new and different which caught on. Now people like mindless action or remakes without a story that requires brainpower so now developers, produces of major corporations offer that only and forget about the things that made the fans fall in love with the franchise in the first place.
That is like G4TV now I cannot watch it at all, it wasn't that good to begin with but now they replaced all of the game related shows with MTV type content like Fast Lane, The Whip Set, the Man Show, things that only show girls boobs and has nothing to do with gaming. There are so many sources to view girls and not many sources to keep up to date with gaming on television, so why ruin the only source that we have with things that we can see anywhere else.

Yeah, I saw an advertisement for the Man Show on some channel last week and could hardly believe it when G4 was mentioned at the end. G4 used to be okay, but it's really pathetic if they have resorted to showing programs like that. It probably won't be long until they're shut down or bought out.

Yeah but I recently found out that G4 is owned by comcast so they can pretty much show whatever they want. I don't understand why they just don't show us the games and keep all of the corny jokes to themselves. I can only assume that the channel is focused towards 10 year olds.

lol, I noticed from people on the internet saying how awful Comcast is, but in my area they are pretty good  They increase the bandwidth every 6 months I have 1MBs download speed now, and started out with only 128kb back in the day.

Wow...lots of topics bouncing around in this thread. I too have to say I love Star Trek the Next Generation. Data is by far my favourite character. Followed closely by Lt. Barkley and Tasha Yar. (Huge crush on Lt. Yar back in the day!) I think that I really only watched the show in syndication, so I have no real concept of which episodes came from which seasons, but what I loved about the show more then any thing was they way that the stories would sometimes just totally screw with the fabric of time and space to the point where you had to almost slap yourself to return to consciousness. What great mind trips. The holodeck episodes were also some of my favourites. Especially when ever Data would break out the Sherlock Holmes getup. I thought through and through that the series was pretty damn strong with only a few minor character hicups. (Alexander...just saying.)
I thought the movies were another story. I did enjoy the one with the Borg Queen. (Who I thought was oddly hot.) Mostly because I always enjoy a good Data story.
There were more points I wanted to make...but can't remember them. Damn post lunch coma.

As much as I love the series I cant watch it anymore, I used to watch it On Star world, cuz well no other channel running here shows it, and Our cable operator Chnaged it to the UAE version. I watch Enterprise though:)
