Animal Rights or Wrongs?
Not sure exactly if any one will notice this topic but just wondering what people think of the animal rights protestors well ainly the extremists that seem to be roaming around England these days terrorising people who just seem to live around or work near an animal research lab.
For example the Oxford University Research Lab thats been held up in construction because of protestors who then go on to hurl abuse at any students and professors at the uni. Plus now that the Pro-test movement has began they'll no doubt get worse although saying thats theyve already killed people and destroyed property, continually harass innocent people who are trying to live their lives just because of they believes and (sometimes) misguided ignorance.

Personally im pro animal testing so long as its strictly regulated so that the animals are treated humanely as possible without needless pain (probably gonna get me a death threat now) for medical research that can save lives or improve quality of life. I am against animal testing for cosmetics cause thats just through vanity.
Still I wonder if these animal rights protestors really do follow their beliefs or are hypocritical when they take all thse medicines and vaccines and treatments that are based on animal testing or if theyd volunteer for it themselves? Plus are they vegetarians? Animals for slaughter are probably treated worse than some of those that are tested.
Also (guess im ranting a bit but after i saw a program today its just been on my mind all night) what would happen if they got their way and animal testing was banned in the UK. no more new medicines or treatments would be made or allowed from other countries that used such measures and so if they or someone they knew were diagnosed with an agressive terminal disease and there was a cure but it was one of those created from animal testing they wouldnt be allowed to have it and would be left to die and yet the same people cause an uproar when such treatments are not allowed to be used yet because the government decides that enough vigourous testing has been done on them!
Another example. bio terrorism. a hostile nation created a virulent and deadly bioweapon but because animal testing is illegal the government cannot produce a vaccine or treatment and yet the same peole will no doubt blame the government for the deaths that could have been avoided.
No doubt these points have been brought up and used but some people just dont want to listen. they hear animals and assume that they use pets. actually theyre lab bred strains of animals (rodents mainly) and yes they should fight for their proper treatment but to try and ban it outright and to go to such extremes!?

i really can't respond. because of human intentions that caused damage i really can't tell animals and humans apart. protesting using the language of peace is better than causing riots and damage and hurting innocent people.

There were researches done as to weather the animals for testing were treated humainly and they were. However I am against animal testing if it envolves pain. Like an example is inducing heart attacks for testing purposes. I personally think that the kind of testing that involves pain or discomfort should be done on the people on death row. The only flaw in my theory that bugs me is that of course there is always a chance of the innocent being on death row.
P.S. I am a vegitarian but I cant speak for anyone else against animal testing.

i thought about being a vegetarian at one point. seeing animals being killed infront of your eyes is too cruel. i did thought at one point, if plants can scream and feel pain, would we eat them?

XD cuddles your nasty. Besides your talking about make up experimentation and they dont put it on their lips like normal people would they put it all over their faces, in their eyes to see reactions. I once read about a study where they sewed kittens eyes shut to study blindness. Now why you couldnt just study them when they were young and hadnt opened their eyes yet anyway is beyond me.

Animal testing has found cures and antidotes for many diseases and viruses. If not for their sacrifices we'd still be dying from the common cold and flu.
