Andy - A Poem For My Friend
So Andy and I have been friends for about a year now, maybe longer. But we've never been real close. Partly cause I thought he was always cold, and partly cause he thought it a bit awkward. I didn't even know his full name was Andrew till recently.
Anyways, after a bad night of hanging with my friends, I didn't want to go home, so he and I talked for half an hour. Quite frankly, I haven't been that happy in probably about two months, which is sort of sad. 
In any case, I wrote a poem about it almost right away, my happiest one done in a year.
To the one I never knew,
Be sure to know I care.
You’re more than just my ticket,
From here to there and somewhere.
We didn’t have a special bond,
Or stories to give away.
Nothing to keep our friendship tight,
To hold to this day.
We didn’t know each others’ dreams,
And I didn’t know your name.
You didn’t know I had suffered,
And came out smiling all the same.
I didn’t know you weren’t just quiet,
When problems came about.
You didn’t know I hug you now,
Because I had once gone without.
You told me I was young,
And bound to make mistakes.
I told you I had made too many,
And never got a break.
You told me he was too arrogant,
But it had never got to you.
I told you I couldn’t have helped it,
But why, I never knew.
You said you make people laugh,
Cause comfort’s not your thing.
I said I understand that,
Pondering what this conversation would bring.
When at last I had to go,
I couldn’t help but grin.
We may have always been friends,
But never as close as right then.

Anyways, I understand how you felt, same thing happened to me last Thursday maybe or someday last week, I felt so happy after a bad week... and the person that made me happy doesn't even know... I think.
