American Girls
Now to clarify this doesn't apply to all girls here in America, it is just information based on what I myself have observed.
Anyway, I am Native American and English, so my people lived here for as long as I can remember and yet I still can't understand the behavior of other girls here. In old times if a guy expressed that he loved you with all that he was, women loved it. Heck you didn't have to even know the guy in those times. Nowadays though, even if these girls here know a guy, if he says he loves them that much they block him on facebook and call him a stalker. If they see him in person they ignore him or treat him like a leper. Why?! If these chicks were smart they'd marry that guy. I just don't get it. What's so wrong with romanticism? Are all other girls more fond of *?

That is a different, and more specific, story. If you were friends, and you said you loved them, then that is understandable. I mean, you are friends, you have common interests, somewhere. You have disagreements, you have a bond, of some sort.
People always say "It's werid to date someone you just met." yet so many people argue that, "I can't date you, you are my best friend". Seems hypocritical to me.
One shouldn't be labeled a stalker because they say they love someone. Even if they have never met that person more than once, that isn't a stalker label. It is more of a "We have a common interest, but we only met once." If someone loves someone, and they do not share any sort of interest or ont know anything about each other, then that is stalkerish.

no..seriously...a guy can be nice, sweet and romantic but he can turn into a jealousy freak just as easily after a few months...so dont marry before you have lived with the person for a while lol
now to the original topic....I do agree that labeling someone as a stalker and ignoring him just because he confessed is going to extremes...it is awkward when someone you dont even know basically yells to the whole world he loves you...especially when you dont even know the guy or dont like him anyway near the way he likes you...I think labeling them as stalkers is just succumbing to peer pressure, basically you have this idea that you have to label the guy a weirdo stalker or else others might think you are weird and wont want to be friends with you so you call him a stalker not to alienate yourself...or some other f*ed up idea like that

and friends are liek the perfect people for a relationship, assuming it isnt akward for both of you, its either someone you just met in a club, someone you met SOLELY for a relationship and would have to have known for a while
or a friend who you grow a stronger relationship with who you know is there for you and would do anything for you

i think if a guy you DONT know at ALL claims to love you, he is labeled a stalker becyuse, he knows enough about you to love you, yet you know nothing of him, therefore....he must have been stalking you XD

i suppose it's slightly more complicated, in these days, girls have the picks, a good looking girl can have about anyone, and most would probably try to use that for the best, if a geek would tell a hot girl (even if they were friends) he loved her, she would let him down
most of the time image plays a part, other times the feeling isn't mutual
and it's not just american, it's everywhere, or at least in europe too, dunno about other continents XD
i dunno what else to add to it though, just that times have changed, girls are allowed to go out and stuff and be more free, not back in the 50's where the parents prefered their daughters to be locked up in a tower till the right guy would chalenge the father in a sword fight like it was written in the books they grew up with because of lack of TV
another thing, the 80's and 90's made sex a more open topic, and because of that a lot of people don't want to settle straight away...

Creeper, adj-A person who does weird things, like stares at you while you sleep, or looks at you for hours through a window. usually a close friend or relative. you know right away if that person is a creeper or does creeper things. it is not hard to spot the creeper.
