Alera watched as the man started walking tword the line... Who was he going to pick... If he was the most influentil one there she hardly felt like she deserved to be picked...
But... he didn't seem to be heading for the other girls... it looked like... no... she started blushing, trying not to imagine that he was the one... trying not to be as prideful as to think she would be first, the other girls were definately more deserveing... He didn't waiver... he was efinately looking right at her...he was determined and obviously knew he wanter Alera even before he was called! She was both shocked and amazed at this realization.
As he stood before her, she had the slightest blush... and her heart raced... she was suprised at her reaction... and she realized... whether he was an elf or not, it didn't matter, this commitment was just as important, besides... she couldn't think of an elf anywhere that would shame his beauty!
She almost gasped when he removed the rose from her fingers and stared at her eyes with his deep careing eyes... she fell into them, like the ocean... she could get lost in them and she felt enchanted... she leaned in... and shared their first kiss... the fact that they just met, didn't bother her... she felt that somehow... they had always known eachother...

Salina watched as Alera was chosen by the tall man with the beautiful hair... she was fine with that... she herself was not really looking to end up with the most important family or in the greatest city... She just hoped that whoever picked her would be interesting... and would have books... and be smart... she looked at the guys on the other side that were left... playing matchmaker in her mind... truth was she was just as excited...

Rea watches the scene... she was secretly disgusted... the thought... kissing a human... it made her cringe... whoever she ended up with had just better be strong... because like the sea that she sailed, she was untameable and unpredictable... She was looking to rip off someone's manhood... But she did what she was supposed to do... she stood there looking stunning in her white and sliver dress, flowing in the wind.

Elowin (the human girl) Watched ... she knew she was next... there was only one elf... and she was the only human girl in the ceremony... she was nervous, she blushed and looked at her feet... she knew she shouldn't but she couldn't help it... the red lily that her mother placed in her hair slipped out, letting a strand of hair fall in her face as the lily fell softly by her feet. She felt alone... and scared... she would be leaveing her family... and even her race to go live among a people she was always taught were untrustworthy... she didn't know what to think...

Shiku sighed, only thinking about the two that were left. One looked either exited or scarred, the other looked kind of freaked when she saw the first kiss. Yeah, definitely not the freaked one....

The sight of Alera and Zenith was touching in a sort of sickening way. Raven could never get that close to a human. they are too different.
When the two walked off stage, Raven knew what was next. The elders called his name. He stepped up to the alter and met the elders as they gave him the ring and their blessing, just as done with the human before. Raven looked at the ring as he took a calm stride over to the human that was awaiting him. The ring was in the shape of a circled vine made out of platinum and encrested diamonds scattered around it, with emeralds coming off in the shape of leaves from the vine, all leading to a large saphire in the shape of a flower portruding off.
When Raven reached the woman that he would watch over for the rest of her days, she seemed sad and yet very excited. she was looking down at a small red flower that appears to have fallen out of her hair, judging from the strand curving over her left eye. Carefully bending down to reach the flower, Raven carefully picked up the flower and lifted her chin up to look at him. Her eyes were a deep blue, like that of the ocean. He moved the piece of hair behind her ear in a caring way and carefully placed the flower back into place in a caring matter. There was a small amount of frost from where he held the flower.
She seemed somewhat surprised and embarassed for she blushed. He took the rose she was holding with care, making sure she didn't protest. Raven crouched to one knee and looked up at her, and offered the ring.

Elowin blushed terribly ... but at the same time she wanted to cry... She knew this was the way it had to be... but she didn't even get time to get to know him first like the other girls would get to... she was going to marry him... no matter what she thought... However... the way he acted... how gentle he was... it was wooing her even now... "Maybe he won't be all that bad after all..." she dared to hope beyond hope... then she nodded and recited the words she was taught to say. "You I accept as my lover, my protector, my friend, and my soul mate." And she held out her hand to him so he could rise and share their first kiss.

Raven slipped the ring on her finger. It was a perfect fit despite her slender fingers. It was now time for the kiss; something that Raven could not do. Not out of hate of the humans, but he could not do so physically. The mountain changed his body throughout the years, making it impossible for him to ever taste the lips of another. it would put them in an eternal slumber encased in enchanted ice. It was a curse placed on him by the spirits in spite of his fathers' actions those many years ago. As the saying goes "the sins of the father passes to his sons", and he was the only son to carry on the curse.
Unsure of what to do, Raven merely kissed her hand as he held it in his. The heat of her body was nice, and almost calming. It seemed to warm him, give him a sense of security. This was as close he would ever be able to get to her without feeling the emotional pain of losing the one he loved; again....

Elowin felt like crying... she didn't understand... He went from nice and careing... to mysterious and cold... She was no longer sure of the marriage. She could feel all of the eyes of the entire court stareing at her... everyone wondering why she wasn't kissed... she blushed again... she felt insignificant, she knew it... she wasn't good enough... she wasn't destined to be happy...

Shiku took a deep breath, looking at his choices. Well, it was no longer a choice really, he already knew which one he was going to go with. Shiku picked up the rose and gulped, praying he could actually go through with it. It's ok, you'll be fine. He turned to the girl that he thought was the best choice, the one that didn't looks absolutely disgusted by the humans; no matter how hard to tried to hide it. Shiku was good at picking up on those kind of things, something he was forced to learn in a family of politicians and liars. He walked towards Salina, finally arriving and looking her in the eyes. She was beautiful, he couldn't deny that, but what was she like as a person? what if she was actually worse then the girl next to her? Well, he couldn't take his chances, and plus, he had time to change if he wanted to, right? He held out the rose, smiling as warmly as he could.

Salina looked at Shiku... well she wasn't last... She wasn't sure what to make of him... he was deffinately cute... not like an elf... but it was different... She found, you really couldn't compare the two... all the guys she thought were cute back at home... were just... different... She felt herself getting caught up in the moment... and he became more and more beautiful the more she watched him, and the longer she looked into his eyes... He lifted the rose from her fingers... he wasn't exactally that graceful about it, like an elf would have been... but she kind of liked that... it made her think of the unpreictability their relationship would have... she leaned in close to him... softly pressing her lips against him... that was it... the sealing kiss...

Shiku felt the kiss shockwave through his body. He had yet to determine if it was good or bad, but he couldn't deny that it felt good. He leaned in a bit more, not being able to help but smile a little as he did so. Shiku managed to pull away, still smiling and sighed in relief, his part was over, now to see how things played out.

(OOC Umm yeah Im sorry, maybe you didn't see, the only reason that Raven's character gave the ring already is because he has no choice... the ring isn't for untill after both agree to stay with eachother... After the two weeks... So I will continue the post as if you did the right thing and you can edit ^^)
Rea was rlieved to see that the ma she was going to have to spend er time with seemed strong and war trained... not some wimpy scholar... Still the idea of spending her time among humans made her ... uneasy. Hopefully his strong apperane matched his spirit, that would make the comeing weeks a little more tolerable, She had no intentions of actually falling in love with this person at all.. But se would cooperate because her people ordered her to. He lifted the rose from her hand and she pushed her feelings out of her mind long enough to reward him with a Kiss. She felt like she was doing him a favor... but then again... it was a sweet kiss... No... she wouldn't even entertain thoughts like that.

Shiku looked down at the ground for a second and sighed. It was all over now, so did that mean that they were off to get to know their partner now? He should've been happy, but at the same time, he had never felt so depressed in a long time. There was a good chance they wouldn't get along, but that was a chance that he and the others were going to have to take.
Shiku looked up at Selina. She didn't look mean and he felt pretty comfortable around her, despite how little he knew about her; so maybe everything was going to be ok. All he knew was that she couldn't have the human girl, who was very pretty. But it's not like he was that enthusiastic for all of this to happen anyhow. His hope for love had left him a long time ago, and she didn't even bother to say good-bye. In fact, that's probably why his father signed him up for this. Shiku admitted, he wasn't really acting like his old self since then, but what was he supposed to do? And besides, people grow up, that's how things work.
Shiku looked at the elder, wondering what his next orders were going to be. Maybe they'd just have him go to him new little home here. But... was that home shared or was it separate? Damn, he had no idea what was going on.

THe elders make their final blessings and bid the couples eternal happiness, Then the main Elder closes the ceremony "Husbands, you may take your new brides to your homes, this court will convien here again in two weeks to discuss the finall bonding process"
Alera listened intently... she just wanted to be in the arms of her new lover, she knew she would have to wait... she was terrified and excited all at the same time to be brought to a strange new city where her new lover lived.
