Alliences (Raven and Elowin)
On a ship sailing twords Raven's homeland Elowin looked somewhat longingly tword the shore... She was leaveing everything she had ever known behind to go to a world she didn't understand... She had a few hours to say goodbyes but it would never seem like enough...

The more he thought, he realized she didn't ever hear him speak. Throughout the ceremony he remained silent.

Raven began walking to her. When he reached her, all he could do is look at her. It was the perfect image. Standing at the prow of the ship with the setting sun in the background. Her hair was blowing slightly in the wind. It was the most magical sight he had ever seen.

She was suprised by his understanding! She had always been told that Elves were cold heartless creatures which were all focused on pure wisdom and no heart. At first she was impressed... and then it felt kind of like he was being her teacher... or her father... maybe he just viewd her as some kind of child, that needed to be taught... She decided to shake it off "Im just nervous" she told herself and she followed where he lead her...

Raven lead Elowin to the captains quarters, where it was made to accomidate them both. It was dimmly lit, with the only light source being a small candle sitting on a blue marble desk. Raven motioned for her to sit at a small table in the middle of the room and pulled out a chair for her to sit. When she sat down, He pushed the chair in and sat at the other end. Raven stared into her blue eyes. they seemed to dance with the flame of the candle, almost like a burning sea of beauty. Speaking in a solem and caring voice, he began to talk to her.
"I feel that before we reach port, you should learn a few things about me, as well as a few things of elven culture. then you can decide if you wish to tell me about yourself. First, we have yet to be properly introduced. I am known as Raven. Call me what you wish, it does not matter to me nonetheless."
Pausing for a second, he began telling her of his culture. How to seem proper among the elves, ceremonial duties, as well as customs.
"now, know this though. there aren't many elves like me. There are those that will despise you, and possibly try to kill you. However, you will not need to worry of these things when we reach my estate in the mountains. It gets quite cold up there, so we will stop by the tailor to get you some warmer apparel. I'm trying not to be rude or demanding, but the faster we get things done, the safer we both will be. I will tell you more of myself when we get to the mountain. Now, would you mind telling me a little of yourself?"

She looked at him from accross the table. the room was big... and very comfortable, she probably should have been used to it, but the nateral art-based nature of the elves it made it seem much nicer than it probably was...
but she was more focused on Raven... she wanted to make this relationship work so she looked directly into his eyes as she listened... At first she though "Yeah... this is like buisiness... is he even trying to love me?" but when he got to the point where he said that it didn't matter to him what she called him, it confirmed her feelings... she was only there beause he was forced to take her... she was just going to be the woman who lived in his house and takes up his space... she wanted to cry... but she didn't want to seem whiney so she held it in...
she couldn't stop her eyes from watering though... and she ried to answer... "I wouldn't want to take up any of your time..."

Raven saw the tears in Elowins eyes. He reached over and put his hand on top of hers and gave her a reasuring smile.
"Time is all that I have, and it's what I want to spend with you. I can only imagine what is going through your mind, but I wish to calm it. I don't wish to see you in sorrow."
Raven thought for a moment. He continued to stare directly into her eyes to try to figure out what was going through her mind. He finally figured out her worries, and summed it up with one question.
"Is there anything that you wanted to do when we get to town?"

she looked up ... she was so confused... this elf man seemed to go back and forth unpredictably... did he love her or not? Now he seemed to care again... still she couldn't move on that quickly... maybe it was just a human thing... "No really... I don't want to bother you... but, my name is Elowin... if you wanted to know..." She was trying to stay strong... her emotions were pretty wild at the moment... and were subject to swinging... not only was this her forced wedding day to a stranger... but she was not doing to well as her cycle neared... She was twice as emotional as was normal for her...

Waiting for a reaction, and not recieving one, Raven sighed slightly. It was going to be difficult to try to get her to understand. He decided the only course of action was to try to lighten up her mood. They should be far enough north now, and it should be dark. Raven got up from the table and strode across the room to the door. taking a step outside, he looked up to see if he was right. He was. The northern lights had appeared tonight.
"Elowin, would you some out here for a moment if you will? I have something I wish to show you."

Raven stared back at Elowin. That look in her eyes. She needed a friend more than anything right now, and under the lights, she looked so much like...her. Raven didn't want the same mistake to happen again. He forgot everything but Elowin. He strode toward her and embraced her. tears began forming in his eyes that froze on his cheek. The only thing that crossed his mind were two words, which he thought aloud:
"I'm sorry"

Elowin was shocked beyond her own comprehension! Was he actually apologizeing to her for being so cold? Or was something else on his mind? She didn't know... but, something about the new tenderness of his embrace made her not care... She curled into him, allowing him to hold her tightly... she felt... protected... and maybe... even loved... she didn't say anything... partially because she didn't know what to say... But as she stood there in his arms... thats when she first noticed the lights... the scene was just perfect... and she mealted in his arms...

The world came rushing back to Raven as he realized where he was. He was holding Elowin on the deck of the ship. What had happened? The last thing that he remembered was the lights and then..... She appeared. She must have done something. Elowin seemed happy in his embrace, and that's all that mattered right now. Raven tried to think of his next words. They had to be caring, and he must act like he knew what had happened. He carefully pushed Elowin away and looked her in the eyes.
" You are the single most important thing to me right now. You will never waste my time as long as we are together. I'm sorry if I seemed direct earlier. I wanted you to seem a little more than a human to the everyone. Elves hold opinions for a very long time, and I didn't want them to get a bad one about you. I will do anything to keep you happy. I want you to know that I'll always be here for you. I'll always protect you at any cost. You are now my number one priority."

God he was so confuseing! Was he cold or careing? Did he love or hate her? ... she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She decided she was going to hold out... this was only the beginning...
Then she thought well, ofcourse he's gonna have issues of his own, but we both have issues. Its hard for both of us... she would wait a little longer...
