All about FF races!
Discuss all the races in Final Fantasy, I'll start with FFVII to FFTA2. Here's on what I've gathered.
Bangaa
They introduced Bangaa race in FFTA  . At first I thought they look fierce but then they're really good in terms of melee. A not bad addition to the FF race, I think.
The moogle tribe!
They're the famous Kupo, kupo! Their kupo couldn't get more annoying but their voice is cute! Anyone know when moogle is introduced into FF?
Burmecian, The Rat?
Freya's race in FFIX, first introduced in FFIX I suppose.
The Guados
Yep, its the bad-guy Seymour's race in FFX. First introduced in FFX I guess.
Bunny Viera
And the bunny Vieras, they're fast...they're agile and with moderate magic knowledge. They first introduce Vieras in FFTA, rather a good introduction into the FF race I'd say.
Seeq!
Its the oinky tribe first introduced in FFXII. Well I don't know about FFXII's seeq, but the seeqs in FFTA2 is almost...useless. The only thing I can admire about them is their speed, despite having that kinda body -.-.
Cetra
Yes, its Aeris-chan of her last tribe! Well, I guess we can put them into human race with a little bit of exception.
Genome, monkeys?
Monkey-boy Zidane is one of a Genome, created by the Terrans. Speed is their speciality.
Nu Mou
The Nu Mous, I'm pretty sure they are introduced from FFTA. A race with very high INT stats, love them! They look cute too, but SO NOT when they speak!
The mighty Ronso
Our blue friend, Kimahri. Me no speak Kimahri language, but me know they so no good in anything. Blitzball, fighting, and singing...they do nothing good.
CHOCOBO!
And finally the main mascot of Final Fantasy, the ones been warking since the beginning...its the grand entrance for the very cute, cuddly, yellowish, feathery, beaky...er what else...

Gria
This one is the latest I think, the winged-human race. Very cute, very useful and quite powerful for the job Ravagers. This is my most favourite race in all Final Fantasy! Gria FTW! 
I think there're more, moombas, Shumi Tribe...what else?

Psh who cares about them they are boring XD if your including FFXI in your group then you've got mithra,galka, elvaan, and tarutaru....but some people dont count that as an ff game XD

What’s exactly the difference between Humes and Cetra? Cetra are more attached to the planet or something?
I don’t have a specific favorite race; I like them all as long as they are useful and functional without irritating me  . Though I really don’t like Shumi Tribe… they give me the creeps.
I found the ones in FFIX to be the most beneficial of them all. Zidane and Freya had some of the best combat abilities in all of the series and I depended on them a lot at low levels. FFIX also presented Moogles at their best in the game compared to the others, like FFX. By the way, I think Moogle was first introduced in FFV.
There are also Yukes, Clavats, Selkies and Lilty or Lilities from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Gulgans from Final Fantasy III. Lunarians from Final Fantasy IV… I think there are others in the last one, but I don’t remember their names.

They're biologically different than humes lol, physically they look the same. They arrived on FF7's planet 2000 years ago, they were seeking for a planet with rich source of life and energy so they browse through google and found planet earth (jk abt google). So basically, they're aliens..*whistles X-Files theme song*.
Aeris probably looked like humes because her ancestors were mixed with the humes, god knows how the Cetra looked before...

I don’t really care much about Cetra’s or Aeris’ natural life form or the essence of their conception, but I thought Jenova was the one who came to the planet 2000 years ago and took the lives of many living beings including most of the Cetra. Weren’t the Cetra supposed to be already there so their lives can be taken?

Nope, the Cetras weren't originally from that planet. They too were seeking a suitable place to live, except that Jenova's aim was in contrary. Forgotten in which part they explained but the Cetras mixed with the humans long time ago, maybe that explains that the Cetras really look like humans.
The Cetras and humans lived in harmony until Jenova arrived. Interesting question you've brought up really.

How convenient; Cetra, Jenova… what else? All happened to arrive to the very same planet at the very same year so Square Enix can design the game the way it was designed . Well I think there is more to it than just that.
Yes; there are Elves in FFI, Mermaids and Dragons too. And that’s, of course, when they were first introduced to Final Fantasy.
There are also elves in Final Fantasy IV.

I haven't seen any elves in FF IV. There are Dwarves though.

I'm sure there's no elves in FF IV but there definitely are in FF I. I remember there are also dwarves in FF III (actual III, not VI).
