AHHHHH help me please!
hey everyone could you please help me, im up to the planetarium where you are told abut lifeforce and stuff, however once the guy thats floating says something along the lines of "watch this, it will explain it" nothing happens, the screen stays with the three characters just standing there with no dialogue or anything, no FMV plays and i cant move. it hasn't frozen since the music is still playing and the floating guy is still making a breathing movement. The disc has no scratches at all and no fingerprints since the friend i borrowed the game from looks after all his ps1 games like they were made of gold. please help me since i really want to carry on playing the game.

actually the game could be frozen, I have mad music playing and characters moving when it freezes.
1. You could try opening up the disc cover and shutting it. (Works great on PS1 games)
2.The lens to the laser could be a little filthy so try GENTLY rubbing a cotton q-tip on the lens (Gently)

thanks for the advice but it still didn't work, im really pissed off now, cos ive been wanting to play ff7 for so long and now ive borrowed it from a friend its deciding not to work at one of the best parts of the game :'( any other ideas?

sorry forgot 1.(modified) "during gameplay when it freezes open then shut the disc cover"
Are you sure there are NO scratches, cause I had Mega Man X5 for PS1 and it got a little scratch and would not load past the Playstation logo. I was pissed!

It doesn't work to well with the FMVs, but the disk are interchangable during gameplay provided you put the right disk in when the game orders you to any disk can be in during most sections.
if one of you disk isn't working for a section try replacing it before(after loading, before the section causing trouble) and you should be able to get past it, be forwarned though that it will play the wrong FMVs untill you return the correct disk.

no it didnt work, however i noticed something when i tried normally, when i open the disc cover thing when it doesnt load the disc wasn't spinning, so it shows that its not even trying to read the disc, any ideas why?

if you hold down the small button under the disk cover it should stat spinning, it's just that if the covers open it stops spinning the disk.

ok here ill tell you how to do it i had the same problem...
83 % of the whole ff7 game is on each disk.. except the fmvs and selected area;s like the last sephiroth battle.... ok when you have your characters about to enter the planetarium dont talk to any one just open the cd cover and place in either disk one or 2 depending on which your on next close the cover wait 20 seconds for it to load then just continue the game when finished the planetarium part just open the cover and switch back the cds beware when on the 3rd disk the part where you fight genova then sephiroth is not on disk 1 or 2 so dont scratch disk 3 or u will never be able to finish the game... hope this helps....

thanks for that, i tried it and it loaded up a different fmv like it should have, except once the fmv had finished and showed them in the planetirum again it froze...again, should the change the disc back to disc one just as the different fmv from disc 2 finishes?

yeah if it starts to freeze time it and change disk ... keep changing disks... untill it loads ... you can even use disk 3 providing its not scratched for that part...

ok i ended up borrowing my friends disc one. i'd like to thank everyone who posted and tried to help me to get my game working i owe you all. if you ever need anything done on photoshop since thats what im good at i dont mind at all
