meh reno wasn't silly, he just wasn't as tight as everyone else XD
and well...i think spirits within...wasn't that bad, the graphics, although not as good as AC, were pretty d*mn good for the year it was released in...the thing's that maybe ppl didn't enjoy it very much because FF games were kind of unreal, and that was the spice on them....whereas spirits within was just a futuristic movie...yes, i've watched it, not complete, but i did, there are somethings that are not that close to reality, but then again, they are far from being what the games were like...i think that's what put ppl against the poor movie.
thanks to the lowly graded reviews, some (if not most) of us couldn't enjoy AC at the movies...
i remember, when i was a kid and spirits within was at the local theater i wanted to watch it sooo badly, but then i was only 12, and my parents weren't interested...so i had to spend the following 6 years sulking about it...about a year and a half ago i dl-ed it and...well, i just didn't watch it complete...MAYBE because i had already played ff7, 8 and 9...
but believe me, when i was 12, i really wanted to watch it, might have even enjoyed it, since i just couldn't talk about anything else but the d*mn movie XD and whenever i watched trailers i practically held my breath XD
spirits within was NOT a bad movie, it was just different from the games, that's it

Despite it being better than Advent Children, a lot of people don't like it. Of course, most of those people are below average IQ so they don't actually count.

yes ppl dislike it -.- and yes they are not on the smart side
i don't think it's better than AC ^^; both stories are good! i'd give them both an 8/10
but, you've gotta accept ACC owwwwns in graphics, spirits within just can't fight that...
i don't have anything against spirits within, i just think ACC beats it in graphics, that's it ^-^

You can't compare graphics because AC was made like, 4 years later.
I think AC is more of a movie for those who like to see violence where nobody gets hurt until the end.
Spirits within was it's own story (although some aspects were taken from FF7 and FF9).

i don't think so arc, i remember i saw that movie with my students once in a class...they had never played the game before but they actually liked it and thought it was pretty good, you don't necessarily have to play the game to like it. same story with my sister
and, of course you can compare the graphics, sure, AC was made 4 years later, but it's the same company, even if you think it's unfair, you can do it, it's like comparing...toy story with finding nemo XD

If you ignore the storyline then you might be right. The story for AC was poor at best.

it is watchable without the game just for some of the action scenes but as a stand alone movie it is not as good as spirits within there sint enough story there on ts own XD
nd it would be unfair to compare final fantasy 7 with final fantasy 10 or actually even final fantasy 8 for that matter, but they where good for the time it was made, and it is sme peoples fave regardless of graphics anyway so meh XD

yeah, maybe the story wasn't that strong as a stand alone, but ....meh, i'm against what i said now XD if you read on the way to a smile...it makes more sense and it's not that weak XD
