Aces Academy: New RP (Closed, PM for reservation at an opening)
I was thinking of an RP closer to real life so I thought up a city with one giant all grade and university school in the middle. This is more of a comedy and drama RP, but it still has action. I want to make this las a long time so I'll tell you the first plot.
An unknown group has been going around the city and attacking civilians. However, despite their actions viewed as mugging, they have never taken any physical material or possession from the victums. They're motives soon become revealed taht tehy are after people with strong magic and fighting skills. Once beaten, the victums are drained of their powers and skills ad left to die. A few regular people aound town, probably 1 in 1000, have just a bare amount of magic in them whether they know it or not. This unknown group spent their days passively until the school rankings shot up and attracted many students from all over the world.
This is where everyone's character comes in.
Making a character:
You're allowed to make either characters with magic or some sort of fighting skills or just a normal student with no magic (you could make a character starting with weak magic but have high potential and growth).
Use your imagination and give your character whatever you want.
The only limitations are these:
Characters are given a maximum of 12 skills. Skills are basically anything really special your character can do. It could be a spell, "limit-break" (as you FF fans know it) or a passive skill. Passives are the only ones really regulated as tehy can be very cheap if stacked. So I'm going to make the passive skill limit at 4. For example, you guys can have a passive skill like: close range defence, which decreases the damage taken by roughly 25% if it is at close range. Anotehr example will be a skill that my raise your long range accuracy, which is good for gunners, archers, etc.
We're not going to play with numbers in this RP, but just have it in mind that a character is tougher in this part and weaker in that.
I'll allow you to pass the 4 passive skills limit, but each extra passive skill will cost you roughly 25% of your constitution or "HP" (again, this is not calculated but just keep it in mind that your character cannot endure as much as others).
You may also consider "MP" like magic points in this game that your character uses for skills.
I won't include anything like potions or for those DBZ fans, "sensu beans", because tehy are like cheating. If you want to recover "HP" and "MP" do what people normally do in real life: rest.
You may also consider eating healthy as well.
An interesting not on the combat system. Fighting does not ahve to really involve too much hitting. The rule used to be that "you can have characters that are constantly dodging" other attacks. This made some fights awkward as people either purposely let themselves get hit or got scolded for "God-modding". That silly rule will be somewhat brushed aside here. If you ahve a really fast character, then dodge. If you've seen really good fights, it's not about two people tanking and seeing who can take the most hits, it's mroe like two people using all or most of their skills back and forth. Most of the times attacks cancel each other out and it only takes a few hits to win. In fact, a lot of fights are won by simply exausting your opponent (especially if the two fighters are about equal in power). Think about it, it's not gonna be like boxing where two people are ok with a few hundred hits; more like actual sword fighting (yes lightsaber fights too) where getting cut is actually lethal and most attacks are blocked or dodged until someone is worn down enough to start making mistakes.
Ok enough with the combat system, this RP is focused on having fun in various ways. For example, I'll create 2 characters with really contrasting personalities and jsut see how they get along and function in society. Eventually of course, the plot catches up and things get a little more serious, but most of the time, you jsut get people living regular lives.
If I get enough people interested, I'll make my characters as an example.
Also, I'm not going to tell you to do "name", "gender", "appearance", etc. because yuo guys should alerady know about those. The only difference is the skills list.

"Argos lays his palm on a solid or liquid based surface. The palm of his hand freezes over as does the surrounding area. Requires a moderate amount of mana and concentration."

Biography:
Argos was Orphaned from a young age, as his seventh birthday aged closer the orphanage was torched to the ground by a malevolant being. The being was vanquished by Elezor a powerful magician. He took Argos under his wing and for the past 10 yearas has taught him Frostmancery due to his adapt manipulationof hte emelemnt. Now it is his 17th birthday and his rite of ascension has begun.

Thank you. Sicne you are allowed 12 skils, I assume you will be putting them in later.
Also, since it is a school, I'm leaving it up to you guys for a scheduel, but try to include all the basic stuff like "English" and "Math" classes. That way some characters can see each other in class.
This sounds incredibly interesting. I hope to be part of it, but I'm not sure how active I'll be, and how active the RP will be, so it's hard to gauge if I'll be able to "actively" participate in it. If I check FuN's as often as I am now, there should be no issue... Eh screw it, I'm joining.
Celebi is like a trophy wife. She's nice to show off to your friends about how awesome you are at catching the good ones, but she really can't do jack **** other than look pretty.

Device: Luciferion (Staff, amulet in standby mode, has AI)
Personality: Calm, Polite, and very Rational. Very mature for her age.
Skills: Active
Round Shield: A magical shield made to block attacks in one direction. Additional MP is required to hold the shield longer or to power the shield more. (Can be made without device)
Pyro Shooter (Pairo Shūtā): Creates Darkness- enfused fireballs and bombards them at the target(s). It is slightly homing. A quick shot shoots 3, but if charged for an extra second, 9 will be shot. She is capable of controlling up to 18 shots at once.
Blast Fire (Burasuto Faiā): A heavy ranged attack that consists of a large magical beam approximately one meter thick in diameter. Think of it as a giant laser beam. It's range, attacking duration, and damage can increase if charged for a bit longer.
Schwarze Wirkung (Black Impact): A one time charge of magic to either her fist (which she never uses) or more commonly her staff. It makes her one time melee attack several times more powerful. It is used to either knock people farther away and force them into ranged combat, or to break through their defences at close range.
Magic bind: Rubellite (Ruberaito): A spell used to bind the arms and legs of the target in one position. It could also be cast twice on the same target for a strangling effect. However, this spell often misses quicker targets and if it does hit, a very strong opponent could probably break out in 5 seconds. Considering this, this spell is mainly used to help get a free shot at the opponent.
Luciferion Breaker (Rushiferion Bureikā): Her "limit break" or "Full drive" attack. She first slashes a mid-air shockwave at her target (Which can be done long range), stunning them, then charges up this attack to destory her opponent and anything around them. Her regular incantation for this attack is:
"Gather, stars of Dawn, and become the flame that incinerates all! Luciferion Breaker!"
Skills: Passive
Auto-Guard (Protection): Luciferion, being aware of her surroundings is able to protect her from an unoticed incomming attack by automatically casting a general barrier that covers all directions. However, this quick barrier has only 50% the strength of her normal shield spells. Cannot be used repeatedly.
MP-Absorbtion: Everytime she lands a phyisical attack on her opponent, a little bit of their magic is drained. Does not work for ranged attacks.
MP-Guard: Negates any unwanted effects on her own Magic power.
Continuous Charging: Magic ranged attacks continue to charge even after fired. This means at medium range, the damage becomes 125% and at long distances it becomes 150%.
Magical Protection: 50% of all damage goes towards her MP instead. (5th passive: -25% hp penalty).
Cartridge Usage: Luciferion can hold 8 magical cartridges. When used, each restores 25% of her MP as well as give a power boost. In order to use her "limit break" 4 cartridges are used to activate "Full Drive" mode for 30 seconds where she can either use Luciferion Breaker right away or stay in that mode, which also boosts her overall power until "Full Drive" fades away (to indicate "Full Drive", Luciferion's headpiece transforms from that of a staff to a spear, thus entering "Annihilation Mode". Thse are physical items that must be replaced. This skill is used due to her massive consumption of MP when using skills. (6th Passive: -25% HP)
Note: Right now I only have about half as much HP as the rest of you. Either way, this character is non-agressive and hard to provoke, so these cheap skills won't be used too much.
Also note that this character will not really develop in power through the story (Mostly increase her mastery over her current skills).
My character story will be revealed early in the RP.

Name: Takir Valentine

Personality: Takir is incredibly cold. He believes himself selfish and has embraced this trait. In reality, he is a decent guy, who does many things that portray him as selfless. He attempts to rationalize these actions to himself by believing that he acts only in his own benefit, when really, he does the right thing because he knows it's the right thing. Takir also doesn't believe in fighting for sport. He will do anything and everything it takes to protect another, but if he is alone in a fight, with no one else on the line, he'll never push himself, and probably lose. Takir does not anger at many things, but if you push the right buttons, he will fly into a rage within seconds. He also has issues with being too hard on himself when he fails.
Likes: Intense cold, being in the dark.
Dislikes: Heat, bright light, loud noise, bullies, people that think themselves above others, and people who abuse their authority.

Body Reading - Passive
Takir is an expert at reading body language, and can generally gauge how a person feels and what they might be thinking just by looking at them. There are beings that are exempt from this ability however, including nonhumans, and others with this ability.
Combat Body Reading - Passive
Takir's expertise in reading body language extends to combat usefulness, he can quickly gauge what another combatant is planning based on movements. This generally makes for easier dodging, blocking, and countering. Opponents with more advanced techniques will be able to fool him if he is unaware of their abilities.
Physical Spirit Channeling - Passive
As of current, Takir is unaware of this ability. Takir has the ability to channel his spiritual energy(MP) into his melee attacks, increasing their damage, but depleting his spirit energy(MP). Due to his current unawareness, this ability can only be triggered accidentally during dire situations. This ability can also empower special physical attacks. (Limit Breaks, ect.)
Intervene - Active
Takir can dive in front of a friendly combatant in order to protect them from incoming attacks. Takir must be within a certain distance of the friend (dependent upon the attack in question) in order to successfully accomplish this. Takir moves at over twice his regular running speed during this ability's use.
Meditation - Active
Takir can meditate in order to recover himself. Meditation is an improved form of resting, which allows him to recover spirit energy(MP) approximately 15% faster than sleep. His health recovery, however, is the same as sleep during meditation. Takir can only meditate when he has at least 25% of his health remaining, otherwise he has issues blocking the pain from his mind.
Elemental Affinity - Active
Takir is capable of channeling elements through his physical attacks, like fire. However, he must have an object that represents said element on his person. The object used as a representative will strongly influence the element and power of the skill.
Spirit Funnel - Active
Takir can transfer his spiritual powers to another being, increasing their spiritual energy(MP) but depleting his. This ability requires physical contact between Takir and the recipient, and both must be willing in order for the transfer to complete.
This ability is currently locked, it will be unlocked when Takir becomes aware of his potential.
Gift of Life - Active
Takir can transfer his life force to another being, increasing their remaining life force(HP) but depleting his. This ability requires physical contact between Takir and the recipient, and both must be willing in order for the transfer to complete. This ability cannot be used while Takir has less than 10% of his total life force(HP).
This ability is currently locked, it will be unlocked when Takir becomes aware of his potential.
Note: Both Spirit Funnel and Gift of Life have a sort of 'tax' on them. Meaning that only 90% of the HP/MP payed makes it to his target, the other 10% is lost. So if he sacrifices 100 HP, his target will only receive 90, and the remaining 10 will vanish.
Note2: Spirit Funnel and Gift of Life can be used at the same time on the same target, with only a single touch. However it is much more difficult to control the flow of energies this way.
Biography: Takir rarely shares information about his past. All that is clear is that he ran away from home at a young age and lived on his own in the streets for years. Takir also has a sister that he cared deeply for, but lost contact with when he ran away. What he doesn't know however, is that she now attends the very same school.

Yeah, it would help else it could literally be after a long usage of MP draining abilities meditate for a while and you're back at full energy ^,^
Well as is there's no way it could be used mid-combat, but I'm afraid that using it after every encounter may end up being overpowered dependent upon how often he gets into fights.
