zsasz's death penalty topic reminded me of a convo i had with my classmates where we were discussing it..and we got to talk about abortion as well...so i wonder what is your point of view on this...
as to myself i'm not decided yet...as i said in the death penalty thread, we have no right to decide who deserves to live and who not...and it applies here as well, when a girl gets pregnant, there is a new life born...and what right do we have to say if keep the baby or kill it...in case some of you want to be more scientific i know its not considered as a real baby to a certain time...but still
but then i'm looking at the other side of the thing as well...in case a young girl, basically a child herself gets pregnant...abortion is often a seirously considered choice...because, lets say an unexpected pregnancy can basically "ruin" your life if you are not prepared and not sure if you can handle it...
i'm only 20 and honestly if i got pregnant now, i would consider it seirously as well...depending on what would be the circumstances, if i would be able to take care of the child or no...i have plans for the future, and i dont plan any kids at least in next 5 years
Im totally Pro-Choice...
as much as i hate the idea, i beleive in choice... BUT.. only if its the best alternative...
for example,
if a 14 year old girl gets pregnant, then abortion is obviously the best choice (in most circumstances)
however... if your a 30 year old business woman who is "well-off" but wants an abortion for career chocie then i think its wrong...
the reason for this is because the first choice would be whats best for the "child" the second is wrong cause its selfish!
that's exactly the reason im not decided...as i said before...if a basicaly child herself gets pregnant, it is prolly the best option...i think it depends a lot on the guy too, if he is ready to take responsibility...and even tho you say you're pro-choice..it's always harder for the woman cause the new life is inside her body...i never was pregnant so dunno..but i think it affects the girl more than the guy...

I am 100% pro-life. I believe in every single case, Abortion is NOT the answer. I believe that if you don't want the child...put them up for adoption, and let a couple who...may not have children, care for them so they get the loving care they need. Don't kill them. It's not their fault they were born at the wrong time....or that you don't want them. Is it?
I also believe that a baby is a baby from the minute it forms in the womb...have you ever seen the pictures they take in the mothers womb? (I forget what they are called at the moment) I love looking at them! I can see the baby's little hands and little feet and everything! Abortion grieves me a ton.
thats the thing, feotus' may give shape, but up until a certain time, they cant feel anything, its only a shape, is een a program "Dispatches" on abortion, and it terrified me, but the thing is, people who get rid of babies for the "right" reasons, wont put it up for adoption, as they still love and want it, they just cant cope!
the idea of pregnancy kinda terrifies me actually...and i see abortion as one of the possibilities...but then again...even if i got pregnant like sooner than i wanted, if i had the right guy who would be able to take care of me and i would be sure that we will be able to raise the kid i think couldnt go on abortion no matter how much it scares me...
Its up to nobody but the person themselves what they do to their body in my opinion, im completely pro-choice; as long as abortion isnt viewed as a means of contraception, then im all for it.
how young is too young? and lets say a 32 y.o. gets raped and conceives a child. is it wrong to not want it? i don't believe i should have any say in the persons choice, i lean more to the pro-choice side.

It's developing, yes, and it's taking shape, but they can feel. They are human like us, and they can feel. I love the shirt I have! I should show you guys sometime! It has a pic of a baby on the front then is says

What part of abortion don't you understand?
I know of someone who's mother tried to abort her, but she survived it. She had a dream of it when she was 11. They are very aware of what is going on around them in the womb.

And sometimes an abortion is the only option to save the mother when things go wrong
My birth mother (from what I was told) was going to have an abortion with me....
She kept me obviously, she ended up keeping me till something happened....
I don't see why anyone would want end a life unlived
I also know people who got pregnant at 13 and kept the baby....
I'm undecided aswell in a way....

It's a sensitive topic, I know, and I don't think anyone want women to abuse the option of abortion - say, like when some girl get a 'child' removed for the six'th time or so. But there are always people who do not want their children... shall they be punished before life or in their life...? Hard choice

No.....abortion, being murder is one of the greatest crimes, against an innocent life. If the baby is not adopted, and is abused by it's biological parents, that is the fault of the parents, and should be dealt with by the law.
And they were meant to be. In God's eyes, they were meant to be. Everyone here has a plan, and was meant to be.
