Well I think it depends on what you want. Just as what the companies' goal is!
Like Nintendoes goal is playabbility and Games
Sony's is more like Performance and Blue Ray
And you could say Microsoft is very much in for online-play.

And the difference between what the companies want is actually good for us in a way, leaving us with lots and lots of great games (which unfortunatly can cost us a small fortune, but that's another thing!) and different styles of playing. Think Eyetoy, think Online, think future controlers (especially Nintendo Wii's).
