A good thing about sony
im one of the first to criticize sony for their many MANY mistakes.. and i think its time i point out something positive about sony.
the PS2.
why? because it is STILL SUPPORTED.
no good games are being made for the original Xbox. no good games are being made for the Gamecube anymore.. the PS2 is the ONLY last-gen console that you can get today that has game potential in the future.
the PS2 slim is probably a good christmas gift idea rather than a PS3, which are bulky, expensive, and its entertainment value is questionable.
so kudo's for sony for still supporting the PS2 while the competition has nothing for their last-gen consoles.

wont nintendo make games that can be played on the wii and the gamecube? just with different control schemes?
maybe i imagined hearing something about that.

I agree it is a good thing about Sony but its alot easier to carry on supporting your last gen console when your the winner of that gen.
The continued support is one of the reasons why not having such a great PS3 launch wont harm Sony too much. Most of us PS2 owners (at least me anyway) still have plenty of games coming up. KH2 and FF12 for me and because of this there is no reason for me to get a next gen console atm.
As long as Sony can keep games coming for the PS2 while PS3 is in short supply not many of their fan base will switch to other next gen consoles.

Sony did this with the PS1, too. Even after the PS2 had been out and successful for a few years, there were a good number of PS1 games still available.

not AS well.
i remember when they retired it..
it was close to 2 years after the last real PS1 game came out. they retired it 2 years too late.

Well i can see that you're not much of a Sony fan, but i have seen on a chart before that there quality is the best you can get. And the Ps2 is just something that you can say that from.

It was not on the internet, being on the internet you can't really trust it.
You know how you are able to buy some books from your news agency, well i recently bought a All Consoles book, and it had the chart inside, i guess that you might be able to research this up?

i agree though the ps2 is still a hit...i mean who plays games for xbox still?
ps2 is still got great graphics and i can wait plenty of time for a ps3....i dont like xbox because it seems like theyre gona make a new one every single year...i mean the xbox just came out almost
the ps2 came out in...like 2000? or 2001?

I dunno, but i would take that comment about "No one playing X-Box anymore" Because millions of people still play it, just that you prefer the ps2  . But yeah, the Ps2 is a great hit, and i reckon will always be around, haha not. The Ps3 is coming soon so yeah, Bonvoyash Ps2.

ya. and you can also buy retro games (from NES, SNES, N64, and even Sega Genesis) for anywhere from $5 to $10. i know they wouldnt be new games but you'd eventually be able to get some very hard to find games for cheap (like the original Dragon Warriors for NES. that game could go for $60+ rigth now)
