Really I thought you said that X-2 was your best? I have always loved VII, and in fact recently when I played it again to record the movies, I never realized just how excellent the music is. I always enjoyed the music but I never realized how every scene the music fit the atmosphere perfectly.

my favorite final fantasy is a strange one because no one really like it but a few people, i loved final fantasy tactics, the strategy element made it tough and rewarding when you won a battle.

it is hard to compare final fantasies, nearly all of them were just about the best their respective system could offer at the time, and in the case of 1-6 where everything besides the cutscenes had exactly the same graphics it just pushed them that much harder to work on the storyline and ingenious gameplay. personally i like tactics VII and 1 the best, all were revolutionary games (at least to me)
