Use the Overdrive Metere like every other Aeon. His strenght increase when it is full, and if you pay him a good amount, Zanamato is used easier.

The amount of gil its up the level of the fiend.e.g dark aeons are lv 6 and you need over 600000gil to do zanmato.The fiends that you find during walking are lv1 and sometimes he use zanmato without to pay.
