ATI or nVidia?
What is the difference between these 2 companies, I just usually go for Radeon stuff since my friend has Radeon stuff. Am I wrong here, is nVidia way better?

i USED to think that nVidia is better for gaming.
THEN i found that ATi just makes GOD AWFUL DRIVERS
so if you have an ATi card, get optimized drivers, it will make the card better than its nVidia equilivant.
BUT if you insist on using standard unoptimized drivers. nVidia is the way to go.
why do i say such things?
well i have a nVidia 7800gt and i have a ATi 9800pro (the 7800gt is 2 generations ahead of the 9800pro) and i compared oblivion benchmarks and picture quaility.
the 7800gt has about 3x the system rating of my 9800pro, BUT i got the 9800pro to have 70% of the graphical quality of the 7800gt AND have at least 5fps more.
imagine if i had a GOOD ATi card... it blows my mind.

honestly I have no idea. I don't play many pc games and the ones I do play work on my pc so I've never looked into any of the new graphics cards.

i seriously do too. they were powerful, and my old GeForce 4 was a great card and played some of the newest games just fine (almost)
it played almost all games up until F.E.A.R came out.

ahh yes F.E.A.R. The FPS of the year! That game looked awesome and I heard it was awesome too (my friend has it) but alas no games can be played on my crappy P3 prcessor. Maybe it is the different types of RAM I have in my computer! (DDR and SD)
Mikhail, my computer knowledge friend said my computer shouldn't even use 2 different types but I get the 300 odd megs out of it.
DAMN! I want a new comp sooo badily@!@!
Anyone know where I can get one cheap (just need a P4 processor[2.0 2.5 GHz], decent motherboard, 2GB RAM, about 250-500 GB HD, DVD-RAM Drive, RADEON X800[ I actually want Duel 512MB Geforces with SLI but meh I'm that picky! lol!)
