james bond - quantum of solace

i saw the movie on opening day - and for those of you who loved the last movie or simply love james bond - dont bother.

im not a big bond fan - but jesus...this film blew big time; how did they mess it up so badly.

it isnt even a bond film (might as well just had bruce willis in the role and call it anything action sounding - fatal impulse or something)

the action scenes were dull and horribly filmed too, the story was boring and uninvolving and the main villain was so rubbish i barely remembered who he was 5 mins after seeing him.

rating - 3.5/10 - atleast it was good looking at timesl...and as a action film it is adequate i guess.
just wait for it to screen on tv and save your money...or go watch dark knight

It felt too different from the other Bond films- I've heard of people saying that they were copying the Bourne films, and I'd have to agree- there were some special effects, but definitely not enough gadgets, and the plot wasn't as good.

well i got free tickets (by buying some of the older bond movies on blu-ray) so... meh.

i dont know how you feel about the previous movie with craig, but was it worse than that? That one seemed a little slow but i still enjoyed it.

meh. i can always watch an older bond movie if quantum leaves a funny taste in my mouth.

This won't be out here until the 19th, grrrrrr

I've see ever bond movie countless times and I'm looking forward to this. So going by what Zsasz says I shouldn't bother but I will lol.
I loved Casino Royale so I'm hoping this has a similar formula...

My favourite bond films are all the Roger Moore ones though, they are the epitome of what a James Bond movie should be: The hero is smart, gets his way with women and has a sense of humour all the time, and the villain is someone we will all remember (Kananga, Jaws, Scaramanga etc). The only other one which felt like a genuinely good Bond film since those days was Goldeneye. Not to say the others were terrible, except Die Another Day lol

Fatal Impulse, lmao, I like that.

haha, glad you like it..i think im going to become a director just to make that movie Razz

i wouldnt go so far seifer to say that it would be the last bond for him (cus in fairness- he doesnt play it wrongly..he just doesnt have anything to work with in the movie)

its not a bad film in general - but when you consider what the last was like..it should have been so much more. i havent seen the old bond films...not a big bond fan honestly...but loved the last one and goldeneye too.

Its nt exactly the acting at fault- more to do with content and plot.

I forgot hat I saw this the other week lol.
Honestly it was a huge disappointment for me too. I would give it a 6/10 since it is above a pass but it didn't 'feel' like a Bond movie at all. The action was ridiculously fast and I'm guessing they were trying to make the movie like the bourne ultimatum, which was silly as well. The only really bondish moment was when he was carrying Camile off the boat and he says "She's seasick". Other than that it felt like some action hero was chasing some action villain. I don't know why they decided to throw in a reference from Goldfinger either, unless people had to be reminded you were watching a bond film, not the bourne hypernatum... The villain didn't seem believable either. Reminded me of Timothy Dalton movies...(Which isn't really a good thing)

The blue-eyed Englishman's success in the role has led some to wonder why the most recent actor to play Bond seriously. If you love James Bond films, Quantum of Solace is going to leave you cold. The only interesting development is the film's decision to turn the series into a serial.
