Silent Hill 5 (Silent Hill:Homecoming) *Spoilers*
I post this here instead of specifically in the PC forums in hopes that someone will see it sooner.
After reading many reviews and such I saw that the game was given a low score and had lots of bugs. However, I was a HUGE fan of the games Team Silent did, and thought, "Whatever, its on sale for 10 bucks through Valve." So I bought it. Now, I admit, this is the first Silent Hill game I've played...er tried to play, that ISN'T by Team Silent. I downloaded and installed it on my laptop, fully not expecting it to work, but knowing it would work on another computer, and much to my surprise, it started and ran just fine, with just a tiny little graphical lag. So, I was playing, and I must say that I feel that Double Helix or whatever their name is did quite well with the Silent Hill atmosphere....for the first 2 halls and 5 rooms. Now here come the spoilers. You start out by breaking off a table to which you're tied down, you walk out into a room and see your little brother coloring behind a cell door, so far so good, as far as Silent Hill can be good, you see a keypad and have to find the code, still good, you go into the next room and find that half of the code is written on an x-ray because you're in Alchemilla Hospital which you find out by picking up the map in the same room, still very Silent Hillish. So, you have to find the rest of the code, so you go out in the hall, find some broken doors, hear a creepy baby cry, find its source, find the rest of the code annnnddd you start walking back through the hall and a body falls out of the ceiling...now if this body hits you, YOU FALL IN THE FLOOR AND GAME OVER. What the heck?! And no save point yet...so after this happened, I started over and did everything up to here again, taking care to avoid said falling body. I open the door to the brother and of course he gets up and runs into the bathroom. Okay, so you pick up his creepy drawing and try to open the doors, guess what, they're all broken cept the one he went into, which no matter what I do, will not give me an option to open it?!?! I looked at a walkthrough, I have missed nothing to this point, and that's where I'm supposed to go. I admit this is a little ranty, but anyone have a suggestion? Valve/Konami support is a bust, so I go to our little forum of geniouses/evil geniouses(LJ).
Edit: Nevermind I found a patch made by some Russian guy that makes the game work..kinda sad actually.
