Music Genres- The Mixtures
Ok, so I've noticed an interesting trend going on...
Metalcore/Rock....is starting to mix with techno.
I wanna know why?
There basiaclly polar opposites, and yet theya re incorpirated in to allot of metalcore bands now..
Examples-
Attack Attack!
Asking Alexandria
Bring Me The Horizon
Of Mice And Men
Some examples, there are more.
Some are suddle, like in Asking Alexandria, with brief moments of "Techno Breakdowns", including one minute long track which is all techno beats.
And Of Mce and Men are also suddle with it, includig some auto tuneing for vocals.
But others are really out there such as Attack Attack! Clean vocals are all auto tuned, completely.
[Search Stick Sticky in youtube and watch the music video.]
Bring Me The Horizon has a technoish effect here and there, but they made a "Cut-Up" of thete album "Suicide Seasons" which is all remixes of there songs (off of Suicide Seasons) made in to compelete techno rave music. And there new album will be more like that, i believe.
Why? All of these bands have pretty great talent without the techno, and would be bette without it.
The techno parts in an Asking Alexandrua song usually kill it a lil bit, I am enjoying there real metalcore sound.
And Stick Stcky is a pretty good song, but the techno part is kinda rediculous....although the video is humerous, it kills the song.
Anywy, thoughts? Respomses? Grievences?
It is good to see msic genres expanding....and not sticking to one specific sound, which can be repetative, but they needa lean it in a more related direction. Techno in metal=Not good.

People have been doing this for ages, look at Rammstein and other Industrial stylee metal/techno bands. Any genre you can think of has probably been mixed with heavy metal at some point. Metal and techno aren't opposites anyway, they complement each other really well if done right, the polar opposite of metal would be something like soul, or chillout mood music.
