EDIT: this is just a rough draft..trying to work out the lyrical tempo or what ever you call it, lol

Adding the harmonica does sound great, althought, the lyrics seem a bit to dark for adding a brighter instrument, but it could make a nice musical contrast, i say try it both was first, then decide.
and it seems top me like it would fit with minors and minors sevenths or some of the sort, and maybe throw in a few majors, or something like that.
