Because they are fun? uhhhh more in depth then your other games usually. More thinking and a deeper meaning then your general hack and slash. Thats why I play them anyways. You have to use your head more.

Some people play itbecause there is more freedom there than in real life. You can lose yourself in an rpg, completely.

For me I love RPGs because they have a deep immersive and well written storyline but I also play them because you use your brain and not just the shoot, stab, kill part and its also a good escape when reality starts to be too much.

I play rpg's for the 80 hours+ of entertainment, I play for the character development (firmly addicted to maxing out every aspect, or as close as i can get). The cut scenes and plot lines are usually more in depth than your fps or platform type game. lastly, the replay value, especially on some of the newer rpg's like oblivion and fallout 3, on one hand i can go through the game as the good guy, then turn around and be the evilest son of a * i can be, all in all changing the story just a bit.

(so thats why whever i come on xbl your always on fallout 3 XD)
maybe its because simply that its more of a challenge? most hack-n-slash games or whatever are linear, and there isnt that much to find... but RPGs tend to have more in them, like sidequests, extra scenes and so on for you to find. its a lot less linear, and a lot more involving. and theres LOADS to do.

lol, well, you don't have to worry about that from now on, i just beat it again a couple days ago. of course, in a month or so i'll probably pick it up again, just to steal everything and create my own warehouse of junk, lol. (ahh just like in morrowind and oblivion!) next up is fable 2, and i expect to be rolling with the likes of you and eric, thorlord, and anyone else who picks it up!

to keep this on track, replay value is important in RPGs, too!

Simple answer would be they're my favorite Genre of game. There's always loads to do, there's not just the main story line to do, but often side dungeons/areas etc. containing rare items to help ya in the main quests. As mentioned before there's more to it than just shooting/slashing you've got to think about various aspects of Combat. I'm not just talking about what moves to do either but also what equipment to wear before walking into battle!
PS Don't forget the awesome storyline (well, it should be) too!

First to master the monk class (probably my proudest/only Funender achievement)
Thanks Rukkie
Thanks Crazed ^^
Darkrai + Charizard = dazard... 1 "z" short =/
NOTE: If I don't pay for an RPG EBAY auction, it's not because I changed my mind, I just dissapeared in one of those forum cracks... If you still want me to pay for something I bid for then PM me =) |
