I'm gonna interject for a second you know that people who do these illegal drugs and stuff only start because they've been told that its not allowed and it'll kill them if it were legal and allowed then people might not even start but thats just me and it might not work but its an idea.

For all those men who say "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free". Here's an update for you 80% of women are against marriage, why? Because women realize its not worth buying an entire pig, just to get a little sausage...and if you're among those 80% add this to your sig.

What a sweeping generalization. While I agree that drugs should be legal, you are just wrong.

But you didn't answer my question. How would you know that the weed being smoked was produced by the US? How do you know that it wasn't smuggled weed they were smoking?
they would do it just like cigarettes i would imagine.
and your previous point, the people that would be in charge of making sure the pot was from the us at whatever retailer or where ever, that would just create more jobs, not take away people form existing ones. And there is never anything wrong with creating more jobs for people.

i wouldnt have said that bluntly, but yeah. i know what you mean tifa, and there are some kids who try stuff to rebel and piss of their parents and then they develop a habit or an adiction and they go from there, but saying everyone that does any illegal drug goes about start that way is simply wishful thinking.

What I'm saying is, what if the weed that somebody is smoking on the corner didn't come from the US? How would they know he didn't buy it from some drug lord who is still smuggling drugs in, untaxed?
And there are plenty of jobs. Most of the people that work under me are guys in their 30's with no diplomas, working their butts off to sell and make commission. Everywhere you go there's a job. Seriously, everywhere. Some people just don't like to work. SOME people like to stay at their parent's house and smoke weed. SOME people just like to sell weed and make money that way. Even if it is legalized, those people who don't like to work real jobs will still sell weed to people.

of course thats true, but people try and do this with truck loads of cigs to get past state taxes and so on. or what about certain medicine that get stollen from hospitals. my point is, that is always going to be there and it should be a deterant from TRYING to make pot legal and therefor helping some people.
also, pot dealers would be forced to raise their price to compete with the overwhelming legal pot in the states and thus, nobody would buy from them bc it is illegal. why would they risk it if
A: its more expensive
B: it isnt as pure as the legal stuff
C: its illegal
seems like people that do use it would have plenty or reasons to buy from the legal source so the dealers would be there but they wouldnt be get anywhere.

What do you mean "why would they risk it"? They wouldn't have to raise prices. It would be cheaper from a drug dealer, because the US would have to charge more on their weed just to break even. THink about it. THey have to make it, divert more of the countries energy and resources. Then they have to sell it, which will take even more resources. Drug lords and dealers can sell it cheaper because they don't have to pay the people who make it "minimum wage", and they don't have to worry about safe structures in which to produce and sell them.
They already get the drugs in. Now it is even easier. You think they would give up now?
So:
A- the legal stuff is more expensive.
B- If you spend enough money, you can get the same stuff, still cheaper. Straight from the mouth of a pothead lol.
C- who cares? They do it now anyway. Kids drink under age anyway. They don't even go to school these days. They really don't care.
Even though it still happens, that doesn't mean we should allow it. The money our country spends to prevent MJ use would still be spent(because they still need special task forces for other drugs, its not like there is Marijuana Police, and border patrol for terrorism). Not only that, more would need to be spent. It's just like pirating music. Why buy a music and movies from the store when you can just go down the street to your friends and get it much cheaper. it's not just about price, its about convenience and privacy.

Even if we assume that everything those against legalizing drugs said was true and everything those for legalizing drugs was false, we still have to ask ourselves one question: what's more important, our freedoms or our safety?

Even if it stays legal people will do it anyway so whats the point and anyway why don't they just illegalize growing your own vegetables cause they can't tax that either or perhaps growing your own cotton to make your own clothes they can't tax that either because thats the only reason pot is illegal hell thats the only prostitution is illegal too because it can't be taxed

So? People murder even though its illegal? So should we just make it legal? Just because people do it anyway doesn't make it okay. It's about the principle as well. You can't just keep letting people slide when they're breaking the law. The country needs to stand up for itself as a whole.
