PS3 stopped playing PS2
out of no where my ps3 just stopped reading my ps2 games...does anyone know wats going on?

Don't know but have you tried seeing if it still plays DVD movies. It may be possible that the DVD lens has gone.

I didn't know PS3 was backwards compatible.
I thought the Blu Ray drive prevented that.

the 60 gig and 80 gig are backwards compatible and i have 60
but its ok since i found the last special edition MGS4 80gig pack in the state until another shipment comes in possible in a month or two what luck!
