I'll never understand why they didn't add save points inside the dungeons.
I know what you mean, having to watch that really long cutscene every time lol

I thought you could skip the cutscenes. I haven't bothered playing it again for several months though. Almost a year in fact.

I quite liked the quicksave, although it went against the tradition of the games, it helps if you have to leave without being able to save

I take it you never played the original FF III then? That had no character development at all. Admittedly, the only real character development was in that one tiny region when you're getting everyone together and the little bits of backstory it showed when you're given the chance to change the character's names.
