Fabula Nova Crystallis not just for ps3? New game engine!
okay so i was reading online about final fantasy 13 and apparently it will consist of more than 3 games and that not all will be ps3 exclusives !

"Square Enix president Yōichi Wada likened the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation to that of the likes of Star Wars and has stated that it could span a decade. Toriyama stated in the Playstation Magazine Australia that the Fabula Nova Crystallis series is slated to be a multi-platform series, not exclusive only to the PlayStation 3 and mobile phones.
At E3 2006, Square Enix called the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, which at this moment includes 6 games, 1 film, 1 OVA and 2 novels, a "50 billion yen project" (roughly 420 million USD) and said it would span until the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII (2017). In turn, they called the new Fabula Nova Crystallis project a "100 billion yen project" (roughly 840 million USD) which gives the impression that Fabula Nova Crystallis would span quite a number of years and include many more titles, possibly including films, books, anime, manga, toys, etc."
NEW INFO ANNOUNCED AT GDC 2008 - the game engine for ff13 has now been renamed crystal tools ( formerly white engine) it has been developed for use with ps3, 360 and pc! a scaled down version will also be used in the wii
also Taku Murata (General Manager of Square Enix's Research & Development division) stated the one of the reasons for developing the engine for pc's is because it will be used in conjunction with the development of a new MMO that Square Enix is working on.

Can you site your sources? I think they're way too far into the development process of such a massive game to change the engine completely and make it compatible for systems other than the PS3. I think you are talking about Fabula Nova Crystallis games that are coming out after at the very least the normal FF13, and possibly after FF Versus 13 which also may be deep into its development process. Those games are simply too expensive to redo just so they can work on other systems.
I just did some research. Apparently they have not said anything about making Final Fantasy XIII on anything but the PS3, although Crystal Tools will be CAPABLE of doing some things on consoles other than the PS3. Until they release any information on their making the game on any other console, I am unsure of whether they will actually make the game on the Xbox 360, pretty sure they will not make it for the PC (the PC compatibility was made primarily for their upcoming MMORPG), and very skeptical of it ever showing up on the Wii, considering the Wii's capabilities in general and the fact that Square Enix is making the game use fighting sequences like those of FFVII:AC, which seems way beyond nintendo's console.
I could be wrong though. They are a corporate giant and may go further than I expect to satisfy their hunger for money.

here is the link to the info about the game engine. and i was talking about Fabula Nova Crystallis (all the games that will be released under this title not just ff13, so far at least 3 have been announced ff13, ff versus 13 and ff agito 13 ) sorry for any confusion.
No no no no no.... FF:XIII and FF:Versus XII are PS3 exclusives unless they go the way of GTA:IV and license Microsoft to use them for gratuitous amounts of money.
Otherwise all the next FF are going to be PS3/360 titles. I hate this idea because it would be like all the halo games coming to PS3 and the X-box fanboi's would literally have a aneurysm.
But because FF:Spirits Within bombed so hard( and cost a * load of money), Square had to merge with Enix (Who was also not doing so well). So they just want to make more money like any capitalist does.
FF:XII and FF:Versus XII already have a release date(Decemeber 1st I believe) so I doubt if that article has any merit.

yeah 13 and versus 13 are ps3 exclusives but as the president of sqare enix said the fabula nova crystalis compilation will span over ten years containing loads of games which will be on other consoles so there is hope for xbox 360 owners
