Um, how about a Scottish person living in the capital of England? I don't think you've considered that.
As for Scotland surviving on its own- tourism, natural resources and various other bits and pieces. And well, I think a lot of Scots were against the creation of the single "Scottish Regiment", when some of the amry sections were really quite ancient.
Personally I'd side with giving Scotland more control over its own affairs, without the English government having the final say in most things.
As for rain, I think they did have a hosepipe ban a few years ago..... And no, you folks can also get water from Wales- thats a lot closer than piping it from Scotland.
