I'm on FFXII and need some basic tips

Well, I've started playing FFXII a few days ago and really enjoyed this game. Just that I got too curious about the gameplay and anxious to be feed with tips and hints from you guys lol. Here's some of the most most basic questions a newbie can ask:

1. What are the ways of gaining money earlier and later in the game?
2. What are the ways of gaining LP (License Points) earlier and later in the game?
3. Any other tips for newbies playing this game?

Probably I'm enjoying this game cuz I've just started this game after finishing Tales of the Abyss which slightly has the same type of battle system. Smile

im playing it too now, half way through and think its pretty good.

gaining money is difficult i find, best to just battle lots - the best thing i found, for both levelling and gaining gil early, is to fight a lot in the lhusu mines in bujerba (or whatever its called), and chain the skeletons...i levelled up about 5 or 6 times before carrying on, its very easy.

later on, but gold amulets for all characters too, it doubles lp points gained (cant buy it til half way through the game though, not til you reach a mountain.

thats all i know, hope that helps a little.

1+2 can be joined: chain monsters and you'll have loads of both before you know it. Also, be sure to follow the marks: you get some cool items and a fair few license points from that.

Also, you should check all old spell or weapon stores every now and then, and when you come into a new town(like bhujerba) check all its stores as well. Chances are, theres some good stuff up for sale.

And check the bazzar for new stuff when you sell off loot, too.

And,

*nod* *read again* *nod*

Yeah I wanted to ask this question, been thinking for some time. How can sometimes I like do more than one hits...currently I have only Vaan in my party so sometimes I get to hit a monster a few times and most of the time I only hit once before filling the ATB bar.

do you mean multiple hits per attack? And the point you're at, then they're just random... but ask me again once you get the mark about a swordsman losing his pride... and i shall tell you more...

Not sure if its been answered buuuutttt.... best way of earning money is just chain killing monsters and selling the loot. Thats really the ONLY way to make money for the majority of them game.

Roger, chain a lot and get the loots. My friend's been telling me the game will get frustrating as things will be really hard (hard to earn money, etc) is it because he simply doesn't know the method of playing (other words suck) or...is it true?

Yeah, multiple attacks per attack. Random huh, its pretty cool when Vaan does 6 times attack per row so I was like "hmm, are there ways to perform it" maybe a certain angle of hitting or something.

No there's no certian angle but certain weapons have a higher chance of a multi hit (like katanas for example... and daggers but not as much)

And another thing... always steal before you kill for extra loot. It always worked for me in dark alleyways.... -.- jk

Oh well, i happened to be his friend who told him that. Ya i must confess that i sux and i dun enjoy it too much. However, the main reason i dislike it is its character development

Ninja swords are great for attempting multiple hits. And create a system later in the game, when you have the six main characters, there is a great system you can set up.

Buy 3 Golden Amulets later in the game. Put them on the 3 characters that aren't battling right at that moment. Party members that aren't fighting still gain LP. At the same time, there should be an item called "Embroidered Tippet" that you can get which grants double exp. Remember to keep the Tippets on the current fighting(main) party, and keep the amulets on the sub-party.

This will guarantee that you will be able to keep up in the game. You have to do it the long way for a while though.

YES! This guy definently knows what he's talking about. Awesome items especially if you can get them early in the game (I think you can get a Golden Amulet from one of the early hunts)

Thats convincing, I mean that kinda item really helps a lot for those not participating in battles. In fact, I feel like continuing FFXII right away! Smile

I'll also bear in mind the Tippets (double EXPs is like what we call awesomeness). Thnx for the great tips guys! And the lhusu mines in bujerba zsasz suggested, gotta bear that in mind too.

and if you ever want to complete the game low level (1,2,2,3,3,3) then you'll have to run from battles for a loooong while, before you can get the firefly (makes you get no exp)

You would also have to run from the story, and all of its bosses.
