how to enjoy FF XII?
Hello guys, being a final fantasy fans myself, i've always love FF games. However, im having trouble wif loving FF XII...honestly speaking, i really like the theme and the world of ivalice. Unfortunately, i find the game extremely frusfrating and annoying too. Largely due to the battle system..most probably i sux at it. Besides, i dislike the fact that everyone can learn a certain spells..it's best to have each character assigned to a role.
Enough of that, im seriously lacking motivation to play FF XII, can anyone help me? erm..maybe tips or convince me that this game is fun so that i haf the urge to pick up the game and play. HAHA, am i asking too much?..

i actually like the gameplay, it allows for moere versatility among the characters, and you can also avoid monsters when your dying. Which i think is a major plus. The assigning the role thing...that can be done. And even if you can make characters do many things there are still seperate traits that they have. Fran will always be suited for shooter tactics, balthier is better with spears and guns, basch should always wield the heavy weapons, and so on and o forth. I like that i can make them do anything however because it means if one character dies that anothe rcan pick up the slack, and that all their weaknesses can be covered somewhat if a player goes down or is incapacitated. (sorry if this was long but yeah.... )

if nothing else, play til the last area, cos the scene going into that is AMAZING! There will be frustrating times in that period.

if that changes and i do start it again, youll have to do the same! lol

Oh Onimusha 3 is awesomeness, I'm playing it again for the 3rd time xD
*ahem*
Anyways
I enjoyed the game alot, yes it wasn't the traditional FF game I agree, and it was hard to get into at times but unfolding the story and stuff, that's what kept ME going

I think its really good, but it is a bit tiring, if I had nothing better to do I could probably play it quite a lot, but recently I have not been playing it that much because i just have better things to do - which is a shame as it isn't a bad game.

not bad, but not good either, i think. The most frustrating thing i found in this was when your casting a spell that takes a long time to make damage with(you know, like flare) then no-one else can cast their spells and everything just got put on hold
I perfer the good old: 'stand in a line and attack every now and then' version. But it wasn't that bad, some parts held suspense, like a really long fight. But some of the battles just become repetitive after a while, espacially if the boss has loads of health

yeah, it's odd - but I think there is a different reason to love every final fantasy game and thats what makes them special - they aren't the same things over and over again, but some true qualities are reapeted, its just the question of whether this time they went too far

Well, I felt like that one too and all I have to say is:
TAKE YOUR TIME!
In FF, I've always found that takng your time, and,(parden the cliched words)"smelling the roses" a way to make it more interesting.

Y'know the game has a good storyline and a great collection of characters but the Liscense system was terrible I mean you never knew what you were spending LP on and then there's the summons they were cool and the backstory was good but you had to fight them all and they were difficult the graphics were excellent and each area looked different but I didn't like the time limit on the chocobo and the three sprints then the flee system sucked I always pressed the keys on accident and was confused when I kept dying then when you get all new items then you'll meet someone with items that are twice as good and you spent every gil on the other ones it ticked me off >_< Grrr

the only reason i never got into the game is because the characters were pretty... well silly. i just couldnt relate to them. they werent developed at all and thus, i didnt really care what happened to them.
i enjoyed the real time battle too so... hopefully i can just push past the first 8 terrible hours and get tosomething redeemable .

the battles were okay but they needed to get rid of the ATB and make it more like Kingdom Hearts was y'know but not exactly I can't really explain it but I hope you get what I'm saying.
