tips?
ok
i have played through this game five times.
and each time i learn new things.
i have never used a walk through, but i have resorted to taking tiips from ppl.
I was just wondering if anyone had any tips that they might want to share with me for my next play through.
and i mean really obscure tips... tips that not many ppl know about.
anything that you think i may have missed from 5 playthroughs.
ie: best places to level, best and fastest ways to max stats, secrets etc.
thanks for the help guys, very much apreciated.
i want to play through and get/do everything in under 50 hours.
much love and kudos for your mums.

Thats a big request, since there's so many of them (tips) I can think of FFVII...especially when one is involved in a FFVII walkthrough making. Let me put it a few things dude ^^.
1. Some Materia combos:
Quadra Magic + Ultima, Added Cut + Ultima, MP Turbo + Ultima, Added Steal + Ultima,
MP Absorb + Ultima, Magic Counter + Ultima, HP Absorb + Ultima, W-Magic, Magic Plus
Note: Ultima is one hard materia to master, so you might consider using other materias like the basics...Fire, Ice, Bolt.
HP Absorb + KOTR/any other powerful summon, W-Summon, Magic Plus, MP Abosrb + the same summon, Mime + Counter, Steal as well + same summon
Deathblow + Added Cut, Deathblow + Counter, Deathblow + HP absorb
Final Attack + Phoenix (for live saver)
2. Easy levelling up and gaining APs
The best place I assume is at the Northern Cave which can only be accessed at Disc 3. Find these monsters (magic pot, and the dots jumping monsters) on the left route and fight them. For Magic Pot, you'll need to throw an Elixir (use W-item glitch to duplicate as many as you like) onto them and then you can hurt them...or else you'll only deal 0 damage. Defeating magic pot allows you to earn REALLY lots of EXP and AP. The three dots jumping like monster, you don't need an Elixir, just defeat them and you'll gain only APs...but lots of them...around 20,000.
Also, equipping weapons or armors slotted with Triple or Double growth allows you to master the materia attached to them quicker.
3. Easy GP in Gold Saucer
All you need is either a good chocobo or lots of money, there are two ways of getting easy GPs...if you're looking forward to spend some time in the battle square that is. First way is to join the chocobo racing, get a good chocobo..a wonderful one would be better. Race and race and win along the way...after each victorious battles, choose to take the GP instead of the item..but please take the item if its good lol! The other way is exchanging gils for GP from the guy hanging around behing the Gold Saucer station at the entrace, talk to him and you can exchange lots of gils for GP...and he'll reappear after a while..so you can repeat this process.
p.s: There's better tips besides this ones, and I bet you'll get more!

...here's one...since cloud has a hard time leveling up...whenever you get him out of the party...train him a few levels...also...use all your stat boosters on cloud first because he Has to stay in the party...

if you have the reflect spell on every one then do this... use w- magic NOT Quadra, it dosent work, this tactic only works when theres on enemy around, if you have reflect on every cast a spel (eg.) fire3 ice3 etc, on your party member, becase it each hits your party members, its counted as a spell, so when it get refected, hits 3 time to the enemy, if w-magic is on, then it hits 6 times,
materia combo for cloud,
double cut +counter double cut + counter double cut + counter etc..
double cut(command) counter (support) must be mastered
if the opponent hit you once, cloud, or another oppenent slashes the enemy 32 times in a row
hich equals, to about 320K ist damge each time
barret: mime + counter = all slots, this takes time to do but what you do is that barret mines his own limit break angermax (needs to do 9999 damage) whe nhe does it hes does it 8 times he attacks the enemy like 30 plus times with anger max every time so you can caluclate the damage.
yuffie: in the sunken galnika, when you get yuffies conformer, add mega all with morph , and morph all the monster in the area, each monster turns into a source of some sort meaning after long, hours you can max, everyones stats completely,
Midgar: most bosses are weak against, lightning
cosmo canyon: this one is very ovious but when you fight gi nattack, he can be deated with an x-potion

Heres a tip.
You raise your limit break by using hyper. You upgrade your limit break by fighting a crap load of monsters. What i use to do when i start off in midgar was fight a ton of those houses and junk in between wallmarket and the slums. I would get finishing touch before I ever even left midgar. It would take a few hours, but when your done you can blast through to cid with hardly any trouble at all.

Aye the good ol' hyper trick used that plenty of times!
Good place to level early in the game, the forest outside Junon. Then the land near Wutai. After that, try the forests outside Mideel, beneath the depths in the crashed plane or inside the Crater.
