I wish they could make it a lot more difficult, i know its mainly experience, but i can complete that game no without trying, i love the game, but a bit more difficulty would be a treat!
Yeah, thats a good suggestion Gary. I want Square to do something different....than a normal RPG game, perhaps switching controllers from Player 1 to Player 2 during a fight of a boss.
This boss is like crazy and nuts, all your attacks will result in miss and such (including spells). He/she can read your mind and moves, so the only way to defeat him/her is to switch controllers. LOL (those who've played metal gear solid know what I'm talking about)
Something like that, or more puzzles but involves fighting. Maybe a monster that reincarnates automatically no matter how many times you kill it, need to hit it at several different places in order to seal its ability to reincarnate!
Would also give rise to online RPGing, for instead you get to control only a character...forming various party online with other users (all FF characters).
But the battle system will shift to the likes of FFXII's, you don't engage in random battles anymore...which might be hard to adapt for classic RPG gamers.
It might be a good idea but I think we shouldn't touch the classic RPG battle system, let it be a random battle...maybe a player 2 system like FFIX's will do.
I think the junction system is good, not great and not poor. Its just an average battle system, the junction system has its pros and weaknesses...so its just a moderate one.
So far, I've enjoyed all FF battle systems...FF7's, FF8's, FF9's, FF12's, FFX's, FFT's (the most). I can't see why other FF fans can't..oh yeah, its the interest and dif feeling.
One of the key of FF8's improvement should be its battle system I assume. The battle system wasn't the best and wasn't the worst either, its simply on average lol - probably due to its difference frm classic RPG levelling up system.
FF8 = levelling up ain't necessary
Normal RPG player = Levelling up is essential
Wacko RPG player = Who cares as long its a RPG
I would say that the dress spheres were the easiest to understand, I always have that annoying bit at the beginning when i've just finished one ff game and started another where I'm trying to work out the system, and x-2 was easiest, but my fave one i would agree is materia cause it has an element of challenge, your not being spoonfed and thats fun
