That's certainly not the case, I hadn't heard about the Gilgamesh legend until I played FFV.
He's actually one of the most colourful characters in FFV. You can steal quite a bit of good equipment too. And he's quite heroic in the end... well, I shouldn't give away more

lol, same it felt like a welcome back kind of thing when i saw him in finalf antasy 12, i espacially liked the battle music being a remix of the old one, i fogt what it was called, it like battle on big bridge or somthing

I agree with this comment, Gilgamesh rocked and he was kinda funny (unlike Exdeath -_-
