Splintercell
i always find it funny that many people think of this as an Xbox only game (which in a few ways it is, extended maps, waaay better graphics etc)
anyway. a question i have is if any of you have played this game and what do you think about it?

yaaaah, its kinda for a niche market. if you dont enjoy stealth games then its not for you.
though if you kinda enjoy stealth games then its probably for you as the game reeaaly makes stealth easy, fun, and completely worth while when you kick butt.
also i just found out that i can stab people in the game. FREAKED me out when my cousin did it, i was like "YOU CAN STAB PEOPLE?" and its SOO easy, and here i went around doing it the hard way.

I've heard of it but the game has never interested me. I usually stick to my fav genres like racing games or RPG's, only changing when I read great reviews of other games.

im sorry but its just a rip of metal gear games. and dont get me wrong, i think splinter cell is great, but its the same idea, more or less the same game play (maybe not now but it was in the beginning) and metal gear will always have a better story.

i have to disagree with you.
having played MG recently, i can safely say that i see little to no resemblance between the games.
Splintercell is Pure Stealth. MG is Stealth Action.
Splintercell's story is lightly baised on world events (still fiction) MG is baised on the creativity of the developers.
Sam fisher is a wussie, the cast of hero's in MG kick ass.
and im serious about that last one. when every guy on the map can kill you easily, it REALLY emphizes stealth. OK hes not a wussie, but he IS a weakling. (plus he is also voiced by the commander from Starship Troopers!)
i dont mean to diss MG, its an awesome game, i have just come to find that the two games are completely different and only releate to MG having some stealth elements.
(the MG game i played was MGS2:S, my friend told me they made the AI better in MGS3)

indeed they did make the AI better. and the splinter cell im refering to is the first game they made which the moves from sam came directly from mgs. thats what im refering to.
and yeah, im not dissing splinter cell either, i just enjoy mg more.

the save-anywhere feature was a much needed add in.
and so is the knife i have nick named "Stabby McGee" as its nice to do kill moves with.
for example:
a guard is walking along a coridor, im behind a corner. im just about to jump out and grab him from behind when a guy behind me starts yelling "Intruder!"
so before the guy can pull off a shot i run at him and cut his throat. the guy behind him (dident notice him) screamed and ran from me, i cornered him and he started firing at me, but i was close enough to stab him in the kidney forcing him to drop his gun as it fires off in random directions.
the other guy (the one i was about to grab from behind) shows up with 2 other mercs and they start firing at me until i retreat to a safe spot on the high celing on a support beam. as they scour the room i drop on one merc breaking his spine, run to the second and cut his throat, pull out my pistol and shoot the last guy in the head.
and you can do cool stuff with the blood aswell. like a guy was talking to his buddy about the jobs he has done and how much he kics america's ass. so i cut his throat and the blood sprayed in the other guys face blinding him. while he was blind i punched him in the face and knocked him out.
and you can freak guards out. i placed about 10 dead bodies in one room and a merc walked in and went. "holy crap.. i think ill skip this room on my route" wize move as i was about to drop on him and break his spine if he had entered. unfortuanately, he also triggered the alarm and sent some more mercs at me with MORE armor (you can trigger the alarm as much as you want now, just each alarm activated the mercs get better stuff, like armor and damage done)
and THEN theres Versus Mode. where you can pull your stealthy tactics against some human Mercs. i prefer the "Gass em and crack em" which is tossing a gas grenade and watch them run around blinded and then grabbing them from behind and breaking their neck. plus you can work as a team to take out mercs. you can do tons of stealth stuff but the catch is that you dont have a weapon... which pissed me off as it makes it hard to kill mercs with their back to a wall.
