lol, when i frist heard FFVII AC, i thought that was the remaking of FFVII but on ps2, meh, found out that it was a movie

I hate to dissapoint you guys..........but that was just a tech demo they had for the PS3. But Square has said it's possible. So, all we can do as of now is hope. There is however supposed to be a Final Fantasy Vii game for the psp, Crisis Core. I think you're supposed to play as zack in it.
You should be able to read more about the *possible* remake here:

yeah thats true. crisis core is just another part of the FFVII-megapack you can buy if you have tons of money...

I can't imagine why they would go to the trouble of making that tech demo if somewhere deep inside, they weren't itching to make the full game. After all, the chance to remake one of the best games in history on one of the best systems out there would be incredible (assuming the PS3 rocks.)
That and think of all the other games they could have used as a tech demo. The PS1 and PS2 had a bevy of incredible games (or at least, well-played) they could have used.
